Yea. I was there and the whole cars land backdrop was on fire. It was an incredible sight to see. Now I think cars land will be pushed back to 2013 grand opening date. It kind of reminded me of the huge fire that roared through universal studios Hollywood.

I still don't know why abc 7 listed as a small fire. It engulfed the whole carsland. This is major news guys.

^ -edit- noticed you added the 'jk' bit..

It was a small fire that has already been extinguished,

Firefighters extinguished Wednesday a small fire on a construction site behind Disney California Adventure.

Construction workers were evacuated from the site while firefighters put out a plastic tarp that ignited over steel framework about five stories high, said Maria Sabol, an Anaheim Fire Department spokeswoman. Firefighters used a ladder truck to reach the blaze.

Welders were working in the area at the time and sparks might have started the fire. However, the investigation is continuing, Sabol said.

The fire began about 3:15 p.m. and was out within 45 minutes.

Park visitors were not affected by the fire, said Suzi Brown, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman. No injuries were reported.

The fire started in the site where crews are building Cars Land, a 12-acre area based on the “Cars” movie. Cars Land is scheduled to open next year.

Having spent 36 years in the construction trades, most of it commercial/industrial, a fire like this is a fairly common occurrence.

Anytime there's welding or cutting with a torch, there's a fair chance of something catching on fire.

At least they got to it before it got out of hand!

Oh my god, I am SO gullible it's pathetic!!! You totally had me going

What's worse is that I live close enough that I totally would have seen the smoke from any major fire from my house. Man, does anyone want to sell me a bridge? LOL

I was there at that exact time and I did not see a thing. Was it in plain view or out of sight?

^ I got to DCA around 2 and was walking right past the CL construction site right around 3, had lunch at the wharf until 3:30. I saw absolutely nothing. Must have been a really small fire.
