Re: Does anyone else say a "Thank you" to Walt at the Walt statue?

I make sure to give the statue a firm hand shake each time I'm there. Then I whisper "sweet nothings" in its ear.

    Just joking.

I will usually make a point to give a short wave and say "howdy walt" as I pass by the statue the first time I'm in the park.

He's never answered back though... although I thought I saw his hand move a couple times.

No, not insane. Just sweet and a little Disney happy like the rest of us here.

I always say a silent Thanks to Walt for this vision, usually at the statue facing the castle.
Of course Every night there is dancing in the VMK castle forecourt and nearly all of us say Thanks Walt and Goodnight Mickey.
Yes, yes we Are all a little nutty -
    But

Thanks Walt, we Do appreciate your vision.

I always say "I wish they would get rid of this dumb statue. It gets in the way of my fireworks viewing."

I whisper it while around the firehouse. I've actually been in the apartment for a tour. Even though Walt may not be here in body, he surely is in spirit.

Walt's dream made all of it possible, we get to live the magic of being optimistic as when we were children when we visit the park (don't bring $$ into it please).

I also like to view his office that's inside Lincoln...though I've not been there for some time.

I think it'd be nice for each of us to utter a little 'Thanks Walt' from time to time.

Here's to the dreamers, and 'Thanks Walt'

Re: Does anyone else say a "Thank you" to Walt at the Walt statue?

I have never went up to the statue and talked to it, but I do every night when I leave the park, I leave on the side of the firehouse and wave and say good night to Uncle Walt and thank him for having his two girls that needed a place to come a play at. That I can come to, and have a great time at also with the family I have come to know as MiceChatters.

No. I love Disneyland and I appreciate and admire Walt for all the things he did, but I think it's overboard to thank a statue or say goodbye to a piece of land...

    But that's just me...

What? That's an entirely ridiculous idea.

His entire body is frozen, and it's beneath the matterhorn, not the statue.

Uhh, I think by paying a ton of money to get in, and then a ton of money on stuff, you're saying thank you in a way that TDA likes to hear. But nice effort.

Sometimes, when I walk into Tomorrowland '98, I say, " you, Michael Eisner."

That statue is a blight on Central Plaza, but I would sometimes get a little misty-eyed by the last surviving portrait of Walt Disney that was tucked away at an unused entrance to the old administration building backstage.

As soon as the new wardrobe building opened and the entrance was put back in use, guess what.

The last surviving portrait survived no longer.

Michael Eisner can go to Hell.

    That's more like it!

No, I've never said anything to that statue... it might scare me a little if I heard someone do that... just me, though!

I've done that. Done "bye" to the apartment light as well. So I guess there's at least two of us that's like-wise insane.
