STAR TOURS: Possible CM Preview and Soft Opening Dates

Al just posted over on MiceAge that the possible dates for Star Tours: The Adventures Continue

It's not announced yet, but official Cast Member Previews for Star Tours 2.0 are now scheduled for May 16th through the 19th. Soft openings for park visitors could begin immediately after that, while the CM Previews begin for Little Mermaid on the 20th. They've gone with the later timetable that was discussed in the last update, waiting for the park to recover from the Pirates Premiere before they begin previewing this summer's new rides.

    So there you have it

    CM Previews - May 16th to 19th
Soft Openings - anytime after CM previews

Again one has to remember that this is a work in progress and ANYTHING can change at any time. This is just the current info. Nothing is ever certain until after it happens.

    Excellent.

I wonder if there is enough time for me to become a castmember so I can ride early. (Just kidding of course).

Is there any chance that soft openings will go on during the the same time or after? I hope they start soft opening right after that date because I will be at the par from the 17-21 so I hope theres a chance I will be able to get on!

Hmmm... Star Tours soft opening might still be in the cards for us then as we leave the resort on the 22nd (with our last day in the actual parks on the 21st) but Mermaid might be out until our next trip down in 4 years or so.

    We'll see what happens.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this ride, but I'm not going to go to the ride and hang out on the off chance I get to ride it early. Also, new rides break down a lot. I'm actually going to wait about a month and ride then.

There should be a sticky thread called "This Day in Disney History." The company has a long history and this would be a good way to acknowledge it. Walt was born 112 years ago; that's quite a chunk of American history and culture.

Being a Premium AP living just 3 miles away, I can hang out for a few weeks prior to June.

    Awesome!
