Actually statistics show that there is no more pedophilia than in previous decades, so to say it is a sick world we live in is just saying that it has always been a sick world. We are just more aware of it because of media focus and subsequent public intolerance. While it may be reassuring that security was keeping an eye out, it is also a symptom of an expanding acceptance of police intrusion. By this I mean security asking "unfriendly" questions that make you feel uncomfortable is simply an exertion of authority and dominance where simply "keeping an eye on things" would have sufficed.
In my opinion, the real increase in sickness is that we have become hyper vigilant rather than just keeping an eye out for trouble. It seems all so reassuring - until it happens to you. Remember those pictures many of our parents had of us as kids playing in the bathtub? Today you stand a real good chance of being arrested. Too much of a good thing can be toxic.
That, too, is a very good point. Something to think about.
Gone but not forgotten......DCA train with Golden Gate in background.
No matter how many times I go to Disneyland I seem to take a ton of pictures each time. Photos are memories captured. I can't wait to get out to the park in the next week to capture memories of Carsland and Buena Vista Street. Thanks to everyone that has shared their photos in this thread.....
