i am so doing the happy new camera owner dance!!!!
Just wanted to say congrats on the new camera! I remember how happy I was to finally get my T2i and although I know its not the camera that makes you a better photographer; a better camera does give you the ability to take certain shots you couldnt take with your old camera so I'm looking forward to your new pics!
Depends what you need. I've got two at the moment, a Nikon AW-100 (pocket camera), and a Nikon D-5000 (DSLR). I use both of them, for different shots and circumstances.
The biggest factor I see in choosing a camera is pick one that you like the menus on, and that feels good in your hand. Look at the test shots on the review sites, but honestly, most cameras now are all pretty good.
Go to a camera shop or someplace you can play with them, and then buy it there. A shop will be able to give you some guidance on what to look for, and what accessories you might want.
