When photographing dancers, it's useful to take your shot when they have any sort of moment where they stop moving: top of a jump, landing a jump, end of a turn, if they have to go back the way they came, anything that has just a moment of pause. Helps to know the show, but even if you don't, you can start to see those moments coming.

    Here's my shot for today!

Oh, it absolutely can be challenging to capture a dancer and have them be sharply focused! I just wanted to say that finding those tiny moments when they hold still can be useful.

Thanks Sara! I wish I had got a full length shot of this.. but it is what it is. I just take lots and LOTS of shots (so cool with digital) and hope that maybe out of 100 that I take I get 5 or 6 good ones. When things are moving fast its hard to sometime make sure you have everything in frame. But I'm learning that cropping can be your friend so don't be afraid to get "to much" in the shot since you can edit out the extra stuff later.

I've used that in the Tiki Room! When the Glee Club comes out of the ceiling, as the birds are rotating around there is a brief moment when they are still, before they start rotating back the other way. I usually try to snap at that moment when they aren't moving!

    Here's another shot...

    These photos are amazing
The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).
