AH MAN!!! That is horrible. I feel for you, as that is the exact same set up I have. I have a couple of lenses, but the 24-70 is my go to work hoarse. I would die if it got stolen.
How did it happen. I hate to make you relive it, but it might serve as a lesson to us all.
Thanks, I honestly don't know. It was a lapse in memory and i was exhausted... waiting for a friend on a bench near the smoking section near the Matterhorn. It was night, I was alone, the camera sat next to me, and I checked my phone, email, instagram, facebook, twitter...
Meanwhile... some people did move in and sat on the same bench next to me. I paid them no mind. I just know he wore red.
All i know is that I stood up and I didn't have my camera with me and really didn't notice. twenty minutes later, I realized... went back... those folks were gone. There was another family two benches away who were still there.. They remembered that I was there but didn't see any "foul play" but said the other people who were there were gone.
Those are the guys. Whether they snatched before I got up, or snatched it while I was seated... that's the part where I wish I was awake enough to remember. It was the 3rd day of the expo and I was exhausted and just wasn't thinking. I have nobody to blame but myself.... but you'd think that people at Disneyland would be friendlier and would actually say "hey you forgot your camera!"
There was a face painting cast member just 5 feet away and nothing was turned into him.
I filed a police report, logged it with Canon, and signed up for stolencamerafinder. But because facebook wipes out all metadata, I don't think I'll get any results.
