it appears that the refurb will last more than afew days. it closes june 3rd and does not reopen until at least after june 15th. that is as far as the calendar at the official website goes for now and bttm is still listed as in refurbishment. The official opening dates for splash mountain and star tours are also up. forgot the exact dates though

I believe it has been de-activated for that long or longer. Although I saw it a while ago when I watched with my Grandfather as the trains went by around the lake-ish area.

The doors are functional, and yes, they are still sitting open. Essentially, as the train is exiting the crumbling cave, the doors would burst open with some strobing. I know for a fact they are still functional from seeing testing last-summerish.

^What's the reason for not using the doors?

I hope they actually get them working. Or this will turn into something like the PeopleMover where they are tinkering with the mechanism but the project never comes to fruition.

I believe it was too expensive or a safety hazard, but I might have that wrong. It could even be that they were broke and just didn't bother to fix it but a MHG said he saw it working last summer.

What is the "official website" that you are getting your info from? I'm just curious because I have been checking the calendar on the Disneyland website everyday since my trip coincides with the BTMRR refurb and I really want to be able to ride it.
