I could not agree more with this guy. Thoughts?

Los Angeles had a DL? How did I never hear about that?
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

I agree though, it's a really great article, and I agree completely with all his points.

It's pretty much true except for the water parks, which I think is worth the trip alone. Orlando's weather is better for swimming.

Their Tower of Terror is terrific. Can't say for much else.

As a former CA resident now living in Florida, I can say I agree with every single word and could add more.

However, here's my list of things that are better in Florida:

Tomorrowland with Peoplemover and Carousel of Progress
    Haunted Mansion
    Tower of Terror
    Icecream Kiosks
    Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon
    Expedition Everest
    RocknRollercoaster

But hey, these are the things I tell myself to feel better about living here. Disneyland charms and satisfies me in a way WDW just can't. The guy is right on the money

After just visiting Walt Disney World, I'm still trying to decipher my feelings but one thing I have decided for sure:

Disneyland > All 4 WDW Parks
All 4 WDW Parks > Disney's California Adventure

They're promoting synergy w/ the Angels. It is now the Los Angeles Disneyland Resort of Anaheim.

Hey, at least Seth Kubersky didn't refer to our Matterhorn as "Magic Mountain"...

The La-La and L.A. references aside, I do have to agree; on all counts.

Got to diss a agree out HM is just as good as there's plus we get HMH, I think Disneyland for me just works better as a Resort, I should not have to travel like 20 mins to get at another park, when here DCA is just a few steps away.

There Water Parks, biggr walk ways, and bigger castle is the only thing that beats us......really once DCA gets Carsland I see not point in me going to WDW since we'll just have sooo many rides and shows there would be really no point to go over there just to see Epcot and the Fantasyland redo.

Never been to Florida, but his points seem to make sense from what I've seen and read on the internet. Both are great resorts nonetheless, and I hope to one day visit WDW.

Also, I've heard that the two DLR parks have the same amount (or more?) attractions than WDW's 4 parks. Can anyone confirm this?

Actually, I'm surprised the guy didn't mention my single biggest pet peeve about WDW: Broken effects that are never repaired. The biggest example of this is the Yeti on Expedition Everest, which was magnificent when it worked. It is now known as "disco yeti", as it stands motionless with a strobe light flashed on it.

But there are tons of other examples, including the butchered earthquake scene in BBMR. Disneyland's effects work, why can't Magic Kingdom's?

There is a notion that Disneyland is frequented by locals who would never tolerate such mediocrity, whereas WDW is mostly visited by out-of-staters who are less likely to notice and/or complain about these things

If EPCOT Center (yes I still use it's original name) ever gets a huge upgrade to bring it back to the glory days then WDW will be the better resort. But I personally don't think one is better than the other. I like all the Disney Parks differently. Each have their advantages as well. DLR is smaller so it's easier to get around, but the outside world is just beyond the berm. At WDW when you travel on the monorails for miles you still can't see any sign of housing or non-Disney hotels. But in the end, all of the Disney Parks around the world are great and continue to get better every day, so there really is no best Disney Park in my mind.

This is awesome! Thanks for posting.

My only slight disagreement would be in hotel cost. Yes, you can get cheap rooms in Anaheim, but you cannot get cheap DISNEY rooms. The WDW resort does a better job of offering affordable Disney hotels. I would like to spend a little more for a Disney hotel sometimes, but the ones in Anaheim are just priced TOO high in comparison to what you can get for amenities at some of the Good Neighbor hotels.

Whatever, I'll take Anaheim over Orlando any day.

    International parks: Some day...
