Predicted wait times for TLM and ST?

This is my first thread on micechat and would like to say thank you to everyone that post such wonderful information, pictures, trip reports, etc. I've learned a lot of valuable information and have been able to get my Disneland fix since we only visit the park once a year

Anyway, my family is heading to Disneyland June 12-16 (YAY!d ). I am now in the process of arranging our schedule and am wondering what you think the wait times will be like during this week while we're there?

I can't wait to hear actual wait times once the rides are open...

    Thanks!

My advice is to plan on opening up the parks. On your first day in Disneyland, bee-line straight for Star Tours (as will probably half the people there). You will have the shortest wait possible for the whole day. Perhaps you can quickly grab a fastpass before you get in line so you can come back and ride it again.

When you go to DCA, do the same thing with Little Mermaid.
Take lots of pictures! Good luck.

    Thanks for the advice.

I've never done magic morning and wonder if there will be an advantage to getting in line sooner going this route.

The soonest you can possibly get in line, the better off you are. Definitely take advantage of MM and head straight there. You cannot get in line too soon .

ETA: And like sbk1234 said, grab a Fastpass ASAP too. Get in line and have one person gather everyone's tickets and run over to the FP machine.

Expect 2-4 hour waits for Star Tours, but honestly I don't think TLM will be more than an hour because of the ride system's efficiency.

Yup. Its going to be busy and its going to be crowded and the earlier you can get in, grab fastpasses and get in line the better. If ST is anything like Nemo was when it first opened... and I'm guessing it will be, by early afternoon lines can have a 3-4 hour at least wait.

I hope you're right about TLM. She's my daughters favorite princess and I have a feeling she'll want to ride it more than once.

but with EVERYONE basically going straight to mermaid and having it be slower than mansion, I would expect a 2 hour wait minimum.

I would expect it to be faster since it doesn't have pulse loading like the Mansion.

I'm not sure how crowded it will be that week, on weekdays. I'm not sure if schools around Disneyland are out by then.

Thing is unless its a slow day that really does not do anything but give you a pre show instead of waiting in line...since most times when its crowded there is always a small line at the loading area of HM.

Mermaid will get over a two hour line day one NO matter what unless Summer has been canceled and Disney fans who have been waiting for this ride for over 20 years are going to be busy....so if you go there day one expecting to wait just an hour dont.

In other news I would do on Toy Story ALL day if the line was down because of mermaid.

^Actually, the pre-show stops the main line for a few minutes, when it's busy, so without that, the line should keep moving I think.

The Anaheim school district kids get out of school on June 15th, and I'd expect that for the surrounding areas. I'd make ST and TLM the very first things you do early in the week, if at all possible.

Oh boy, I would avoid the 15th and 16th like the plague. All those kids who want to celebrate school getting out so they go to Disneyland. It's going to be so crowded those first few days.

Re: Predicted wait times for TLM and ST?

I agree with most people here. ST WILL be more busy because of the loading system and remember DL opens earlier, so more people will automatically head that way and it will build up a bigger crowd in the morning. BUT the great thing about ST is that it will have FP. So, I'm guessing as long as you get there before noon, you will have a chance to grab you a FP and ride it later in the day or eveneing if you dont want to do the massive line it will most likely be. I plan to ride it at least twice, so I'm going to grab a FP first and then stand in line for the first round regardless of the wait. And I think it will be fun on the first trip you do the stand by line and go through the queue normally IF you have the patience!

TLM will definitely go faster, but I'm guessing 1-2 hour waits minimum most of the summer, especially the first month.

My advice IF you just want to do these first and get them out of the way, show up at DL first thing in the morning and either stand in line or grab a FP. But I'm guessing by the time you do ST, DCA will either just opening up and go run and do TLM when that park opens! I have a feeling there will be a lot of people with the same plan lol, but you can do both of these before noon if you get to the park at opening.

AND dont forget that Soundsational parade will be pretty new and I'm guessing thats going to get a lot of people waiting to see it, so that might slow down the lines a bit too when it runs.

Man, its going to be an exciting summer though!
