Hehe, it is indeed hilarious and we've all seen it.
It's been out since before June. Also, Disney has posted some extended scenes on youtube so check them out!

Here's a tip for seeing if a youtube video has been posted on the forum. Copy and paste the video code into the Micechat search box and do a search. For that Vader video, for example, here's the URL:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4_dZPVg8KI
So you would do a search for the part after the equal sign:
t4_dZPVg8KI
If you copy and paste that portion of the URL of a youtube video into the search, you'll find every post where that video was linked. It's not foolproof (in the event that the same video exists on youtube uploaded by other people), but it's a quick way to do a check if you ever want to see if a video is on here somewhere.
Hey, I hadn't seen it yet - very funny!
My only problem with the ride is the movement. Its smooth, but too smooth. Like during the hoth section of the ride, where u are doing near misses with the AT-AT's, the movement of the ride doesnt feel as real as you are seeing the movement on screen. Then when you go down that cliff, you hardly feel any movement when on screen you see that your going right then left then left again. Feels like im just watching a movie almost.
Then as for jumping to lightspeed, I never got that sensation either of going lightspeed, again feels like I am just watching.
Things like this in the ride is really disappointing because the old ride did a better job of making you feel like your there. To me that feeling is part of the fun.
The ride is still good. Maybe you all have had a different experiance?
great experience for my first ride. My Dad had one of those Handicapped entrance passes. We saw Stormtroopers finish a meet and greet outside and entered into the wheelchair entrance. We walked in, expecting to see them with their helmets of chatting. But instead the escort us at Gunpoint into the elevator while the CM behind them reminds them that we may or may not be the rebel spies. So they lowered their guns and I got a private photo with them. They escorted us and some others up the elevator and stood on either side of our door with their guns up before walking off to do it to others. this is what I love about Disney
I believe in Sherlock Holmes, Moriarty was real.

I know exactly what you're talking about, the ride can bet a bit motionless at times. It's really noticeable in that Hoth scene like you pointed out. What I recommend is that next time you ride, ask for the back row. Based on my experience, the motions are more noticeable from back there than the middle. The front row is also pretty fun too. The middle in general is pretty boring, but it's still a fun ride.
As for my opinion of this, I really liked it. I remember I used to not ride Star Tours a lot, I'd even avoid the ride because I got tired of it. But when I first rode Star Tours 2 I was pretty surprised and I went on it nearly every chance I could. I was lucky enough to go on enough to experience all the possible scenes.
My last ride on there was the best though. I was in the back row and had a great ride combination (Darth Vader, Pod Racing, Yoda and Coruscant). The coolest part is when Darth Vader was looking for the spy and my picture came up on the screen. Not to mention, it was my birthday too, so that was pretty nice.
Waits for the ride are FINALLY manageable. MiceChat tweeted the wait board from this afternoon and it posted a 40 minute wait. I'm also glad to report I've FINALLY have experienced more than two of the same scenes. I rode the ride 3 times and each time got Tattooine and Asteroid Field. My last visit I rode 3 more times and got Naboo and Coruscant. Gotta say, the Naboo ending is AMAZING!!! That's one I wouldn't mind doing every time. However each time got Tattooine for first destination ugh! I wanna see Kasshyk (sp?) and Hoth really bad (especially Hoth). Still have yet to get them and Yoda as transmission so hopefully soon I could have experienced it all.
I hear you! Actually I JUST hit all the scenes this past week....FINALLY! I been trying to hit Kaashyk for MANY rides now. I hit all the others the first 5 trips or so, but I could NEVER hit that one. I would ride the ride two times in one day and I would get Taaitoinee on one trip and Hoth the next one. This would happen MANY times and high frustrating lol. In fact, that happened just on Tuesday!! Then on Wednesday, I grabbed TWO FPs and had a free FP I could use on any ride a friend gave me and I said its HAPPENING, I am GETTING Kaashyk!!!!!! I didnt care if I went through all three of those FPs, I would stand in line again if I had too...it was killing me this much!
Well, first trip on Wednesday with two good friends (who got Kaashyk that morning after getting Taitoinee with me the night before Arrrrrrggggghhh!!), I FINALLY saw it. I couldnt tell you how great it was after countless trips, stood in 60+ min lines, midnight hop ons, FPs and an early entry trip, I got this sucker lol. Now I can just relax.
But you know what they say, 15th time is the charm!
So if it can happen for me...it can happen for you!! You just gotta believe!
Disney Resorts visited:
Disneyland Resort: 40+ times
Tokyo Disneyland Resort: 20+ times
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort: 3 times
Walt Disney World Resort: 2 times
Disneyland Paris Resort: 2 times
funny, when I was there i rode it 19 times and got Tatooine 3 times Hoth twice and Kashyyk 14 times. It is almost the opposite of everyone else
I believe in Sherlock Holmes, Moriarty was real.
Gonna have to agree on the "too smooth" semi-complaint. Overall I loved the ride, but it was a little too smooth at times. For example, when Vader grabs the Starspeeder and holds it with the force, it took me a second to realize what he was doing because the Starspeeder didn't feel like it was being held by Vader. A very minor complaint.

Just got to ride it for the first time this weekend, I was not disappointed at all. It is a phenomenal ride that pays proper homage to the previous version while also being a completely standalone experience.
I was really happy with the queue, they added lots of fun things in there that appealed to a semi-Star-Wars-nerd like me. I really liked the scanned packages and noticed Wall-E in one of them, and I didn't realize Rex was even in the queue until my second time through! I also had no idea he would blurt out some of his old dialogue - I heard it in line once, but I thought I was hearing things!
However, I do have a few small gripes. Despite what IMDB says (and it is by no means infallible), Vader did NOT sound like James Earl Jones. Having seen all Vader movie appearances multiple times, and played video games where his voice is impersonated, it definitely sounded like someone trying to be Vader. This was jarring when I rode for the first time, because the difference sounded so obvious to me. I'm sure most people wouldn't care, but it did bug me. I know it's been reported a couple of places that James Earl Jones did do Vader's voice, but I haven't seen it from an ironclad source. Ackbar's voice also sounded kind of funny.
The rest of my comments are more "Star Wars nerd" gripes, so if you are just a casual fan, feel free to skip this section!
The whole timeline of the ride is screwy, for multiple reasons.
1. Yoda was never identified as a member of the Rebel Alliance. In fact, outside of Luke and Obi-Wan, no one in the galaxy seems to have any idea who Yoda even is in Episodes 4-6. So why the heck is he talking about "our cause" and taking part in Rebel Alliance activities? He's supposed to be in self-imposed exile on Dagobah.
2. Why are there AT-AT's on Hoth? This ride supposedly takes place before Episode IV, which means it's before the secret rebel base is built on Hoth. The Empire didn't know the Rebels were on Hoth until Episode V (Empire Strikes Back), then attacked with AT-AT's.
3. Chewie probably wasn't on Kashyyyk anymore when this ride takes place. Since the Rebel Alliance is already established, the ride occurs pretty close to the start of Episode IV. That means Han Solo and Chewie were already partners and getting into trouble, so he would probably be flying around the galaxy in the Millenium Falcon and not smashing into Starspeeder windshields.
4. The giant ships in the battle over Coruscant are an outdated model - why are they there? The ships are the type seen in Episode III, which were supposed to be the predecessors to Star Destroyers, the same way clone trooper uniforms were predecessors to Stormtrooper uniforms. We clearly see modern Star Destroyers at the start of the ride, so why would the Empire have the old models used in battle over its capital planet (Coruscant)? And they aren't rebel ships, because the rebel fleet has never included them at any point.
HOWEVER, since the original Star Tours doesn't make any sense in the Star Wars canon, these disputes really don't bother me. All of my complaints are very minor, and overall I think the ride is amazing. To me, it is now a top 5 DLR attraction.
