Star Tours 2 3D concern (Mostly a question for CMs)

I will be going to Disneyland on June 11th, I would absolutely LOVE to ride Star Tours however my vision does cause some concern.

Does anyone know if there are any accommodations or handicap access? I don't want to sound like I'm asking for "special treatment" but what do you think the chances would be of getting a "front of the line" pass? I have +19 vision in each eye so waiting in line for 40 minutes for a 5 minute ride I can't see would be very disappointing. Any suggestions? Thoughts? Should I simply skip the ride if there's a chance the glasses won't work? I don't expect anyone to shut down the ride if I can't see or anything, they can't help that I had cataracts as a baby but it would be nice to be able to "try" without feeling like I wasted an hour.

The line will be at the exit like always. But don't expect it to be short, especially with some people thinking they can fool the system who dont have handicaps, expecting to get an easy ride on the newest ride. You would have to bring proof that your eye sight is not great, so they can give you the handicapped paper. Even then, I am not sure if that will be enough to get in through the exit.

If I understand what you are asking, you just want to be set in the front row not be allowed to go in without waiting. If this is the case, I have found that most CMs are very happy to accommodate seating requests (for instance the front or back row on roller coasters or the center ride system on Soaring over California). All it usually entails is being willing to wait for the next ride load, if the front row is already full.

I hope I understood your questions correctly and that my answer makes sense. Have a great time! My wife an I were supposed to be there this weekend but I had surgery that will keep me off all rides until August at the soonest. I've waited ten years for this revamp..what will another couple of months hurt?

Exactly this. Just ask the loading CM to sit in the front, and they should be able to accommodate you

They won't ask proof. It may take a little longer than usual, but CMs usually take special request like this (It's like asking for the back seat on Big Thunder).

The seating in the actual ride isn't my concern, I have been on the original Star Tours several times and never had a problem. It's great to hear how accommodating CMs are.

My concern is the 3D aspect, due to my poor vision there is a very good chance that I won't be able to see the 3D effects. If I can't see the 3D, oh well, if I wait 60 minutes in line and find out that the whole ride is in double vision for me, I will be very disappointed that I waited so long for a ride that would require me to close my eyes to avoid a headache.

My advice for anyone with a nonapparant disability is to get a GAC pass when you first get to the Resort. When you get to Star Tours, locate a CM and ask them where you can access the attraction with your GAC pass. CM's are always friendly and accommdating, and will be very friendly. However, be aware that a GAC does not automatically mean you won't be waiting in line. The newer attractions tend to have queues designed to accommodate most special needs guests (for example, the Toy Story Mania queue can accommodate wheelchairs and ECV's).

Also, be aware that having a GAC pass does not guarantee a shorter wait time in line. The average wait time for special needs guests on any attraction is typically going to be about the same as those waiting in the regular queue.

Lastly, regarding special seating requests, just let your CM know when you get to the boarding area, and they will be happy to accommodate you where possible. It might add a few minutes to your wait time, but they will be glad to accommodate you.
