The Incredible Mr. Limpet on Ariel's Undersea Adventure?

I was lucky enough to take in a soft opening of The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure Park. During my ride, in the "Under the Sea" scene, I spotted Mr. Limpet, in fish form, on my right. He was nestled in seaweed but with those round glasses and Don Knott's face, he can't be missed.

For the past hour I have been thinking of reason's why he would be incorporated into the ride. Knott's never had his hand in The Little Mermaid, but has worked on Disney projects. Mr. Limpet's story also takes place during World War 2, not the same setting for TLM. I even considered the fish that is Mr. Limpet to have possibly made a cameo in Bedknobs and Broomsticks, but that is not right either...

So if you have any insight as to why he would be in the ride I would really like to know! Also be sure to check out TLM attraction, it really was amazing!

Not sure why he's there, but I love that he is. That movie was great. Probably just some imagineer's joke.

"The Incredible Mr. Limpet" was produced by Warner Brothers. WDI would not include him in the attraction, he has no connection to The Little Mermaid or Disney whatsoever. It's just a coincidence.

Yeah but didnt WB also worth with Disney on "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" ?

Even at the end of the ride you hear WB's Loony toon's tune (The tune you hear at the end of a loony toon show)

I don't see how the exact fish (Mr. Limpet) being put in a place hidden behind seaweed and a less lit part of the scene is coincidence... He's there for a reason and I am trying to figure out why

It is Mr. Limpet. We rode the ride several times today and one of the CM's is who told us that it was Mr. Limpet and where to look for him. Mr. Limpet was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and it is definitely him.

I say "Who cares why he is there, just appreciate that he is." Maybe one of the Imagineers loved the movie as a child as well and wanted to pay his own personal homage to it.

P.S. We also found the hidden Mickey. (No, I won't tell)

It's neat when they "sneak" something in and sort of hide it on a ride. Kind of like what they did on Pooh.

This has been a Filmways presentation dahling.

Actually they play this at the end of Car Toon Spin (The theme song at the beginning. I might be wrong though):

    YouTube - ‪Roger Rabbit - Maroon Cartoon‬‏

Nice tribute to a nice character!

Huh! Growing up, I always assumed Mr. Limpet WSA a Disney movie - imagine my surprise to learn it was WB!

I hope someone gets a picture soon. I guess it's possible that the fish just resembles Limpet, and the CM was having a bit of fun with it.
