Remembering Indian
I just wanted to take a moment to remember someone who was honored as a Disney "Legend" just a few months ago.
I just recently learned of the passing of "Indian" Aramaki, Disneyland's first Executive Chef, which happened in September.
I realize that a large number of Mice Chatters weren't even born when Indian retired back in the mid-1980's. But if you ate at one of Disneyland's restaurants during the first 30 years of its existence, just know that he did all he could to make sure that it was a quality experience.
Working in foods at several different places in the Park, I was around him several times and always found him to be pleasant and very helpful. I also had the pleasure of working with his son, Mike, both at the Plaza Pavillion and in New Orleans Square. I just wanted to make sure that this great man of Disneyland's past is remembered as a Walt Disney pioneer in his own right.
