Talking In the lobby of the GCH.

One day, it was chilly and the end of the day, so when I decided to leave DCA, I took the GCH exit. I wandered through the hotel just soaking up the atmosphere (I think GCH is a much better hotel than the old DLH). I wandered into the lobby and sat down in one of the most comfortable chairs in the world. As I was relaxing, a family came in (one adult, two children) and staked out a sofa. They waited and waited... Someone came in, the father, I guess, and he had two pizzas with him. They opened up one and started eating.

I didn't know you could do that! I have no idea where they got the pizzas. I wished I could have joined them, but that would've been weird.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen at the GCH?

Funny you bring this up! Something strange happened to me at the GC Hotel just the other day too!

I was sitting in the lobby with my family enjoying a quick bite and some guy sitting across the lobby kept staring at is. It was weird!

Nothing strange, but I just remember an afternoon where I parked myself by the piano player and had the nicest time listening to some wonderful music. Not strange, but nice and memorable.
For those who haven't seen it yet, here is the lobby.

and for the record, I didn't take either of these pics. Got them off the internet.

This is more than odd, but the other day I had just bought some yummy pizzas when I noticed this cold family of four who were apparently very hungry. Three of them went to sit in the lobby while the "father" came over and offered me Star Tours fast passes in return for the pizza - I took the deal!

It's true. They are the most comfortable chairs in the world. Not strange, just fortunate.

Yeah, when I go to DTD or just at the parks for a day, I can go and sit in one of those chairs all day. Sometimes I do lol. I bring my Ipod and play games listen to music, grab a beer, etc. And yeah people love to get together and eat there! I saw one family bring their food there. BUT, what was odd was the food came from White Water Snacks lol. They bought it in the hotel but apparently decided to eat in in the lobby because I guess the atmosphere is just better!

You wanted something weird, this is the best I could do! Now I DO have weird hotel stories and if you want weird stories about a hotel lobby I stayed in Bangkok once, I will have to send you that info through PM!

When our girls were old enough to go wandering in the parks on their own but not old enough to be at the resort on their own my friends and I used to bring a book and a drink and sit in the air conditioned lobby on those hot summer days. It was perfect. I don't remember seeing anything odd or strange though.....

Mental note to self: spend more time exploring the Grand. It's so pretty, and I never remember to go look around. I get random times from walking through, meeting people or whatnot, but never to just hang out.

I went in once just to see if I could use the WiFi on my iPod and some security guard came and asked me if I was a guest and basically told me I had to leave. Since then I don't even get near the gate lol

Same thing happen to me when I was in the Frontier Tower lobby in DLH. But I told him that I was just walking around the hotel to look at the new stuff and just sat down for a bit to rest my feet and legs and I would be on my way shortly.
