Will Skull Rock and the Pirate Ship Restaurant return to the DLR?

Back in the early 80's, both the original outdoor Skull Rock and Pirate Ship Restaurant passed into yesterland. Both of these locations were such an iconic part of DL, and certainly deserve another outdoor location. when the DL Hotel pool was remodeled in the late 90's, we did get new outdoor versions (although smaller), but it was still great for Skull Rock to return to the DLR. Now, once again, with the most recent DL hotel makeover, Neverland is Nevermore.

Will we ever see the return of either of these items to Disneyland? Wouldn't it be great to see a new Skull Rock and Pirate Ship restaurant in the old Motorboat area of Fantasyland? Or would there be room for a new Skull Rock somewhere on Tom Sawyers Pirates Lair Island? There must be room somewhere at the DLR for these two yesterland icons of the DLR! I'm sure there are still plenty of Lost Boys around that would love more Neverland at the DLR.

not at all since we already have the columbia ship and the pirates lair and "skull rock" is not a key location in the pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

I think this would make an interesting addition to the DL Hotel since their trying to do the whole "nods to the history of Disneyland" type of thing. I do know for a fact that they did try to save the original but they found out that it was falling apart while they were moving it. Very unfortunate.

If you want the original, you can't, since part of the ship is in Peter Pan's Flight.

As for remaking it, I have no idea, I honestly don't know where they'd put it and changing Fantasyland, IMO, would be a HUGE mistake.

What do you mean part of the ship is in Peter Pan's Flight? I Thought they demolished it.

Some of the rigging, lanterns and props from the ship are in Peter Pan's Flight when they did the redo of 1983.

I'm certain that one of my early trips to DLR included the pirate ship and skull rock but I have no memory of that trip (except for a terrifying talking skull from POTC that gave me nightmares for years).

They were planning on moving it to the Small World mall right next to Storybookland. Why they never constructed a new ship here after accidentally destroying a piece of park history is beyond me. It can certainly be done.

It really wasn't a ship, in nautical terms. It was a wooden building in the form of a ship. When they went to move it, the foundation and lower wooden portions of the building were beyond repair due to water damage from the surrounding lagoon. So it wasn't economically feasible to save. They just bulldozed it and hauled it away to the yesterlandfill.

I remember seeing photos of the ship in it's final days and the bottom of it was all rotted out and looked pretty awful.
