New Characters Coming to Disney California Adventure Park

I just saw on the Disney Parks Blog that Dug and Russell will be coming to the Wilderness Challenge Trail at DCA this summer. I think it's really exciting that they are adding new characters!

So it looks like its official! The rumors we heard a few months back about this area getting an UP theme has started! I think its pretty cool although yes, MORE Pixar in DCA, but it ties in perfectly.

There are new friends coming to Disney California Adventure park this summer! On June 25, the Wilderness Explorers’ Camp will open at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, featuring Russell and Dug from the Disney•Pixar film, “Up.” The Ahwahnee Camp Circle will be the place where guests can participate in a special ceremony with Russell and graduate to Senior Wilderness Explorers. Also, as guests enter the trail, they will be met by Dug, the friendly dog. The trail will feature Wilderness Explorer activities through which young guests can earn merit badges.


On July 9, Phineas and Ferb will debut their new show, “Phineas and Ferb’s Rockin’ Rollin’ Dance Party,” also at Disney California Adventure park. The show will be an interactive dance party featuring the Disney Channel favorites. Guests will have the chance to join in on dances and activities while a DJ spins songs from the series.

Ooh so exciting! I love Up!I think I only went to the Challenge Trail once. It will be nice to go back, I remember it being really pretty. Does anyone know when they start making appearances? I am going next week and I would really like to get pictures with them. They probably won't be ready by then though.

YES!!! Up is my favorite movie and RCCT one of my favorite areas in the resort. Thank you Disney. Kick out Brother Bear and bring on the wilderness explorers. I can't wait to take my nephew to go an win badges (is it bad to say that I really want the badges as well lol)
