Re: Snow White Castle and the Carthay Circle Theatre

I think it would cheapen the original more to just go and change it for the sake of having each park have a differently named castle.

ORWEN: Snow White has a dark ride and that's what Disneyland did to showcase her movie. Sleeping Beauty has the castle walk thru and she deserves to keep it. Otherwise you have too much focus on Snow White while leaving Sleeping Beauty out in the cold.

ORDDU: Plus the original poster's logic for wanting to change the name of the castle to something else--just because of what DCA is building--makes no sense what-so-ever. Just leave well enough alone.

Disneyland purist that I am... I would actually like this.*

Snow White seems so forgotten nowadays. However I don't wish to see the original castle harmed or changed, so Snow White's castle realized will just remain a lovely dream for me.

*Not just a re-christening, but a fully new development complete with courtyard, mirror room, and dungeon.

Or just keep with tradition and rename the Carthay Circle theater the Fox Wilshire. (where Sleeping Beauty premiered.)

You can't just rename it when its built to look like the Carthay Circle, not to mention as far as history is concerned, the opening of Sleeping Beauty is nowhere near as important as Snow White.

Re: Snow White Castle and the Carthay Circle Theatre

If the walk thru wasnt there, I would be ALL for it! Plus add to the fact the Snow White well is there and its a great tie in. But yeah the walk thru makes it a problem because A. Its GREAT and should stay and B. You cant switch it out for a Snow White one since they have a full ride for her several feet away.

But yes, it wouldve been fine. I doubt most people wouldve cared either. Majority of people who go have no clue its even the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

    Le sigh, how beautiful.

Snow White really does need her own castle of similar design and construction.

Though there is a small point. Which Snow White castle would it be? The queen's castle has the most detail (and would look lovely). Yet Snow White's rightful castle is the one in the "clouds" at the end of the film.

And we could put a Snow White Castle Hamburger Stand inside it

Seriously, the thematic tie is an interesting idea, and if this were for two totally new parks I'd be onboard, but it would just feel strange to start calling it Snow White Castle after all these years.

Also, I think people might say, "Snow White Castle? But it's pink!"

Of course, some people would just go on calling it Cinderella Castle .

Re: Snow White Castle and the Carthay Circle Theatre

If Disney does ever open a new park somewhere I really hope they do Snow White's castle. But another Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, or even Beauty and the Beast would probably be suggested first.

If a castle was made for Snow White there could be a lot of interactive elements included in the design. The Magic Mirror done somewhat like Turtle Talk with Crush would be a lot of fun.

I love Snow White's wishing well and the grotto. I always make sure to hear the duet when I go to the park.

Just throwing this ridiculous idea out there...you could change the Snow White dark ride to a Sleeping Beauty dark ride, change the SB walk trough to a SW one, then repaint the castle. Just saying, no intentions to get anyone's knickers in a bunch.

Add in the dungeon and a mirror room and I'd be for it.

And the first castle would be a better choice visually than trying to represent the second three-dimensionally.

Though really the whole thing would need to be reconstructed. Let's just hope that a future park will give Snow White her own castle.
