Your Ideas On Why the 4th of July Weekend Was Not Busy
Just as the title suggests, what is your explanation for the lack of crowds?
Re: Your Ideas On Why the 4th of July Weekend Was Not Busy
Really it wasnt busy there? Didnt know that. It typically is a big holiday right?
Re: Your Ideas On Why the 4th of July Weekend Was Not Busy
Apparently crowds were so light that Star Tours was a walk on the entire day practically. Crowds started to form for the fireworks show.

I voted people traveling out of town, and not meaning SoCal people going away, meaning out of towners being at home for the 4th with family/friends

Blockouts and having a reputation for being busy. If locals think it's going to be miserable crowded they'll stay away. Now word of mouth will be that it really isn't so bad, so I'll guess next year will be busy again.
I've been there on Thanksgiving weekends where it isn't very crowded, but they anticipated heavy crowds.

because it was so freakin' crowded last year, that everyone said "NO WAY" this year including me! Dang - the one year...now next year it will be a zoo again

...Because even on non-holidays, everyone I know outside of this forum hasn't touched the place in at least two years because of the insane crowds caused by Disney papering the house with APs...?
Just a wild guess.

This, people don't like being in an over crowded park, hence why most of my friends prefer Universal in the "off season" because most of the attractions are walk on.

Yep. That coupled with price increases.

I know it has for our family. Not going to pay all the money to travel from out of state, tickets and hotels just to be jammed into an overcrowded park.
With the "off-season" becoming smaller and smaller, our visits are getting fewer and farther between.
Re: Your Ideas On Why the 4th of July Weekend Was Not Busy
Because it's so crowded, nobody goes there anymore?
I think it's due to the economy and the fact that the 4th fell on a Monday that made a difference. Most people I knew didn't end up traveling because it was on a Monday, or were traveling back home on that day rather than celebrating.
Re: Your Ideas On Why the 4th of July Weekend Was Not Busy
It has been really, really, hot here lately. I would say the "local crowd" (myself included) avoided it because of how terrible the weather was.
Re: Your Ideas On Why the 4th of July Weekend Was Not Busy
I would vote for it was because the 4th was on a Monday and people didn't take Tuesday off.

Maybe the rapture was late.
