Re: Trader Sams Enchanted Tiki Room- Disneyland Hotel

We checked it out not long after it opened. It is cool as a themed bar, but too small with ridiculously slow service. I did not count, but there are probably only 10 tables with one servers. Another 12-15 people can sit at the bar. There were three bartenders there when we were on a Saturday night. My husband was disappointed in his drink when it finally arrived. We really preferred Hook's Point and are very sad it is gone.

What are some good specialty drinks? It'd be cool to head down there one night at when i'm at DTD.

Sounds like it's a pretty small place. I'd probably try to go when it's not so busy probably early afternoon before the evening and dinner rush, just to get a few drinks before hopping from one park to the other.
"Up" is a relative concept. It has no intrinsic value.

You won't be disappointed ... but a few tips I would give everyone:

Unlike most bars that have a "queue" spot to order your drinks. You have to lean over people sitting at the bar stools to order your drink. I don't like that at all. And I would like to make a formal suggestion to make that change. Best thing to do ... take a seat outside .. and wait for a waiter or waitress to come by and place your order.

Also .. for being so small inside ... It is so incredibly noisy ... your only way to have a conversation with your friends .. is to SCREAM into their ears! So ... again ... take a seat outside .. and order your drink.

One more thing .... there's a lounge area just outside the steps to Trader Sams .. with an open fireplace .......... WARNING ... this is a place for SMOKERS. So .. if you cannot take the nicotine at all (like me) stay clear of it.

But if you can ... do stand around inside for a few minutes to soak in the theming. The room "erupts" for a few seconds which is cool. It's not just for ordering a drink .. it happens every few minutes anyway.

But .. sitting outside the main doors has it's advantages ... with the torches and soft instrumental "mood" music playing.

    enjoy
oh nice.. so certain drinks cause certain things to happen inside!! I SO WANT TO SEE THAT! anybody need a date friday night ?

As someone stated above, the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum DOES NOT start the volcano (not sure which drink does, but it happened once while we were there).. I should know, I had 2 of them! However, when someone orders the Shipwreck, it does cause a very incredible shipwreck scene to happen (we were lucky to be sitting at the bar right in front of it)... I also thought it was cool that there are "unlucky" stools at the bar. I'll let you figure that one out on your own. The only food we tried was the Pork/Cheese flat bread. So good we ordered another one! I thought the service was pretty good. Will definitaly be going back... Tiki bars have a habit of coming and going... so I'm going to enjoy this one while I can.

ok trying the pork and cheese flat bread.. and tiki tiki tiki tki rum and maybe a shipwreck!!

gee thanks for these reviews! I cannot wait to go now!!! YAY!

This bar is well worth the walk. the theming in it is so awesome. I find that sitting outside is way nicer than inside as mentioned above. they have a live mellow band out there usually.

I totally think it is worth the walk. I went with the BF and his imagineer friends and we had a blast. It is tiny, but has a lot of character. The bartenders are funny and this one guy working was just funny. He had that whole 'ive gone crazy being stuck on a deserted island' thing going on.
We were there for a good three hours just chilling, drinking, and talking. It got packed at times then got empty again. A bunch of cool stuff happens and it just feels nice in there.

The drinks are good too. I got the Mai Tai... yum yum. All the drinks have a good amount of alcohol in them and are tasty. The menu doesnt have much, but it really easy to order other drinks that arent on the menu, the bartenders are really knowledgeable. I think we were there from 11pm to 1:30am. Definitely a cool place.

I took my five-year-old in to see it when it wasn't crowded during the day. It's small, but really cool! The bartender was very nice and demonstrated the cheesy volcano for us. I love this little bar!

It's a great, especially well-decorated bar, full of details, wit and whimsy.

If you like bars and you like Disneyland.. you'll love it.
    Permanecer sentado por favor...
