What other CA elements would you like in California Adventure?

I always wondered why Catalina wasn't represented more in the park. I know a couple of tiles were placed on the mural depicting the casino, but I would have liked to see a recreation of the actual building in the park. I see it as a two story structure with a show downstairs like the movie theatre in the Avalom Casino and the upstairs would be a restaurant themed to the Casino ballroom.

What else from CA would you like to see there?

Interestingly, both Don the Beachcomber and the Brown Derby were included in the "Hollywood & Dine" buffeteria restaurant that was generally well-done.

A soundstage was divided into a series of sets that depicted the interiors of these famous restaurants.

Ya, but it was more of a name slapped on a building than any real theming. Still I liked it better than the princess dining.

ORWEN: Well, let's see. How about an earthquake attraction? You can't get more 'California' than that!

ORGOCH: Yeah an' a mock street gang fight just fer street-mos-phere.

ORDDU: And let's not forget a tent city or a homeless brigade to really scream out what California has become.

A gold rush themed area that has a different style from Frontierland. Just as Knott's Berry Farm's ghost town looks different from our Frontierland, the same could be for DCA. Themes about the great frontier and the gold rush are entirely different; this is what I would have preferred over Carsland. Heck, we could have even gotten a variation of the Phantom Manor or something groundbreaking like Western River Expedition.

I said it before in another thread, but they could get some winos to camp out under the new overpass they are building.

"Gold Rush"-era San Francisco before the 1906 earthquake would have been an interesting place to visit.

Dang, Gold Rush San Francisco is a brilliant idea. Mind if I use it for my Imagineering/expansion plans? That was the plan for Discovery Bay at DL. It was supposed to be themed to Gold Rush San Francisco to make a seamless transition between Big Thunder's Gold Rush and California's Gold Rush. This would fit perfectly in the park. The only problem is there would have to be some more room to put it. A Bug's Land is a significant amount of real estate but unfortunately the location wouldn't really have enough room to hold the Bay Area. And Francisco kind of has some representation near Little Mermaid. But if Gold Rush-era Francisco was brought over there they would have to rid of Sky School (I'm okay with that) and find a way to make Paradise Pier across the river fit in thematically. But I suppose if Fantasmic! can be located on an island in the middle of the American frontier, anything is possible.
Theatrical Roles: Various Roles (The Laramie Project), Fred (Oklahoma!), Oberon (Shakespeare in Hollywood), Hero (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), Valere (The Miser), Moonface Martin (Anything Goes), Thenardier/Laborer/Army Officer/Ensemble (Les Miserables), Franz (The Sound of Music), Tobias Ragg (Sweeney Todd), Tinman (The Wiz), Elles Dad/Winthrop/Ensemble (Legally Blonde), William Barfee/Leaf's Dad/Jesus Christ (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Fiddler on the Roof (Rabbi), The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Muff Potter/Ensemble), Shrek the Musical (Lord Farquaad)

If they could squeeze in a new land somewhere: with all the world-class laboratories, universities, and tech companies in California there should be a science and technology center that would serve as DCA's Tomorrowland.

Yes, but those were just themed mall walk-up counter versions. Yet it suggests the company should be able to license (or maybe still has a license?) for proper eateries with nice facades and interiors. Wouldn't it be fun to have period versions of those no longer extant Hollywood classics? Don's could just be the bar with pupus... (as Trader Sam's shows, Disneylanders never tire of good tiki).

I don't suppose they could find some room, someplace, for something to remind us that actual
PEOPLE have been living in California for a minimum of 8,000 years, possibly 17,000 years?
