So I often think of the future, with everything, especially Disney and Disneyland. And I was thinking the other day about all the rides and attractions that were present in the first original years Disneyland opened that are now long gone. So since we still aren't that far away from DL's 50th, I figured a good stepping stone would be DL's 100th anniversary. I wonder what rides and attractions you all think will be long gone and resigned only to Disney history books and old file footage by the time we reach Disneyland's 100th?
Personally, these are some of the attractions we currently have that I'm pretty sure will be long gone by then:
- Winnie the Pooh
- Finding Nemo Subs
- Buss Lightyear Astro Blasters
- Current form of Star Tours
- Current form of Pirates (Hopefully by then will be restored to the original, like when Coke made 'New Coke' that everyone hated and then brought back 'Coke Classic' and made a killing)
That's the few I can think of right now that I'm pretty confident will go the way of the Dodo in the next 50 years or so. I guess then we should all try to enjoy them while they last!
What do you think? And also, are there certain rides you all are 100% confident will be around virtually unchanged at that time? For that I'll say..
- Tiki Room
- Splash Mountain
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Mr. Toad
- Peter Pan
- It's a Small World
