Not only would the time be wrong, but so would the place. The California Zephyr's western terminus was Oakland, CA, not Los Angeles.

lol Maybe they should have just made an New Hotel themed with all the things that left DCA (the letters, Golden Gate Bridge, the sun wheel, the Train etc)

I do agree this is one of the COOLER things from DCA that I will miss, I remember a little toy model of DCA in there when it first opened over ten years ago and have always liked the stores since, it will be missed

The cars are actually masterfull recreations--the details have actually fooled some very knowledgeable folks.
I was pretty sure that the locomotive was genuine, but for a long time I was uncertain about the cars ... they looked too real (although I'm sure that they are shorter than the original coaches that I had ridden in).

I'd love to move those coaches to my yard ... I've got plenty of room for 'em and could turn them into my office ... or a place for my HO layout.

Does anybody know what'll happen to the cats who live under the Zephyr? If they're still there, I hadn't seen them in a while.

I will also kind of miss the Zephyr! Baker's Field Bakery and Burrrbank Treats, man, those names are very near and dear to me(: And I don't think I ever ordered food from either of those places... :P

Lol for a second I though you meant the Golden Zephyr.....but hey, they got to do what they got to do to get this area right

    ---------- Post added 08-03-2011 at 08:23 PM ----------

Yeah, cause it would be a time-travelling train coming through not just a tunnel, but a rip in the dimensional fabric of the universe; a 1955 Streamliner arriving 20 years in the past in 1930's Los Angeles.
Well, lol, if that deal with Disney to buy Back to the Future ever goes through then thats a possibility

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets those 2 confused. After they pull out the train, at least I'll know what people are talking about now when they say Zephyr. There can be only one.

That train is what lured me into DCA.

Seems like every time I grow fond of something, it has to go. Maybe I'm a jinx.

This has been a Filmways presentation dahling.
