What's up with that? I can't understand why you would have coffee sitting on the burner for that long? Don't you know how to brew coffee?

Ok, I will stop compaining... but I only bring it up now because Ah Schucks pointed out the coffee issue...

if you hate the coffee blame nestle. every food location in the park has to serve it, cuz they're a sponsor. around 2001 they took over as the coffee sponsor replaced all the old coffee machines that made a decent cup with their machines that suck. that is all.

Just to let you guys know, some places serve nescafe and others serve the stuff roasted at Bakersfield. The beans that are roasted at the resort are not from nescafe (can't remember the company but when i do i will report to you guys). they roast the coffee for the sit down restaurants and buffeterias. I am not sure what places still serve nescafe (i think most of the fast food places, not buffeterias) use the prepackaged stuff from nescafe.

(A little knock on the execs in foods)
With the new line schedules we will be able to know when your favorite barista is working and be able to go back when they are there

I had the mocha malibu coffee drink at the Baker's Field Bakery when I was there last week. It was really good, but not like a frappucino from starbucks... The malibu is made with ice cream I believe, so its creamier and less icy than a frap. However, its a great drink...

The rest of the coffee oferings at the parks, however, are just bad bad bad

If Starbucks were to provide the coffee, regular DL cast members would be serving it. May not exactly be the best solution...
So true. I work for Starbucks and we get constant complaints about Licensed Concepts stores. These store are located in Vons, Albertsons, casinos and so on, but for some reason suffer in service and quality.

Starbucks is way over rated and sadly, has become the McDonalds of coffee.
I hate that we have gone to automated espresso machines and have become so bottom line focused. No need to send Baristas to school to learn how to make a shot of espresso when all they have to do is push a button.

Someone mentioned Illy espresso. Your right, it is very good. Cafe La LLave is the best.

Well, I had coffee this morning at La Brea... And I wasn't too impressed with it... But then again, I like Sumatran Blends - be them Starbucks or Peets...

However nothing compares the house roast at Calistoga Roastry... I am telling you, the best coffee I ever had came out of there...

It's the BEAN... not just the brand...

I've had coffee at these before. They are in Barnes and Nobel, THe Great Indoors, etc.. I only get Starbucks if nothing else is available. Anyway, I couldn't tell the difference in the various versions of Starbucks from a product perspective. THe service is kinda spotty though. The mixed drinks (mostly milk and sugar) are OK, if not even close to being authentic versions of what they are named. Their plain coffee tastes like burnt toast.

This video sums up Starbucks IMHO (some naughty language, BTW): http://www.illwillpress.com/vault.html Play Small, Medium, Large, then play Coffee House Propoganda.

And how it is roasted. Starbucks double roast all their coffees which gives that more intense flavor but also tends to taste burnt to some people.
Double roasting also leaches more of the caffeine out too. So, the stronger, bolder coffees have less caffeine.
Cheap coffee, like from Burger King or from a can of Folgers actually has more caffeine.
Cracks me up when people say, " I need your strongest coffee".
