New parades every year, the kind without show-stops, preceeded by a small float to promote the latest animated movie; The castle walkthrough; Kid-friendly Tom Sawyer Island (Remember the days when we actually used to be able to rock the bridge?); The 2-level Starcade and days when the Crystal Arcade and the Penny Arcade were two different spaces; A BBQ meal on tin plates by Big Thunder Ranch's campfire; Thumper's Easter Egg hunt at Big Thunder Ranch; Waiting an hour to ride the submarines; Two Brothers; The Festival Arena (with an immersive show); Videopolis; Fish n Chips from Fowlers; When parking was $3 or less; When AP's used to be laminated photocards; Sleeping in and then having to park in the Jiminy Cricket section by the electrical towers; the Monorail Cafe (such good food!), and the ability to take the Monorail straight to the DL Hotel.
I miss the Metropolis like feel of TommorrowLand. It used to be so much more active.

There was a time when they offered "Mint Juleps" on the Mark Twain. Often, a dixieland band would provide music in the evenings. Today, gliding around the Rivers Of America after dark is a relaxing and soothing experience. The festive party atmosphere of yesterday was a lot of fun, though!
What "little thing" about Disneyland has gone missing that you'd like to see again?
I miss this the most!

Well, they do still have some bands playing at the CPG, but just not the caliber of the old Big Bands. (Wartime Radio Review IS the exception, and is a very good band)

Skull Rock and the Pirate ship in Fantasyland
I still miss a water feature and nice place to eat in Fantasyland). The stores! The one of a kind antique shop, the fantasyland magic shop, the futuristic items in the tomorrowland stores.
How about a tuna sandwich from the Pirate Ship, eaten by Skull Rock?
How about some genuine antiques, non-Disney stuff (like was in One of A Kind Shop)?

How about them ribs? ummmmm...... Yeah, I know Rancho del Zocalo has ribs, but it's not the same.

To OggieBoogie's I would like to add The Main Street Electrical Parade On Main Street in Disneyland
As soon as I saw the rockets in front of Tomorrowland I said "gee, aren't the Dumbo Jets cute there.
Yeah, I know I cheated here (a lot), to cut and paste and quote all the other ideas, but those are what I miss.
My top misses are...
1. Pre-F! Frontierland/NOS and Mark Twain at night with the Mint Julips and Dixieland bands.
2. The PeopleMover
3. The Main Street Electrical Parade [B]on Main Street in Disneyland[B]
If someone wanted to start putting them back, the above is the order I would like them to reappear as well.
<sigh>But, well, that was yesterday, is is today, I know they will never come back, but I can still miss and long for them.</sigh>
Also, Tom, thanks for starting this thread, really neat idea, brings back the memories!
The amazing shrimp cocktails with celery, pineapple and a cayenne spiced Thousand Island dressing that they had at Fowlers Harbor in the early 90's. (I learned how to make them, but my living room doesn't look like Critter Country... yet!)
Country Bear Jamboree
The double cheeseburgers w/bacon and onion rings at Hungry Bear (WHAT?!, I like to eat, okay??)
Non stop trips on the Disneyland Railroad between New Orleans Sqare and Tomorrowland.
Carousel of Progress
The real Penny Arcade
The Castle walk-thru
Merlins Magic Shop in Fantasyland
I'm sure I'll come up with more. Stay tuned...
