Re: New Musical coming to DCA "based on animated feature"...

In my opinion they don't have to base it on a movie (Just look at the Golden Horseshoe Revue with Wally Boag) but in the end of it all that's usually how it is. I wouldn't mind if they brought over the Golden Mickeys even though it isn't original. Villains Tonight would be cool too or just a general tribute to the best of Disney music.
Theatrical Roles: Various Roles (The Laramie Project), Fred (Oklahoma!), Oberon (Shakespeare in Hollywood), Hero (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), Valere (The Miser), Moonface Martin (Anything Goes), Thenardier/Laborer/Army Officer/Ensemble (Les Miserables), Franz (The Sound of Music), Tobias Ragg (Sweeney Todd), Tinman (The Wiz), Elles Dad/Winthrop/Ensemble (Legally Blonde), William Barfee/Leaf's Dad/Jesus Christ (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Fiddler on the Roof (Rabbi), The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Muff Potter/Ensemble), Shrek the Musical (Lord Farquaad)

Seattle's production of Aladdin is strictly local, and the production materials are eventually expected to be available via license to other theaters such as local community groups. There are no plans or intentions at this point to bring Aladdin to the Broadway stage.

What a shame. I always thought that since they successfully brought the other three movies of the "Renaissance Four" (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King) to the Broadway stage, then Aladdin would finally make its way there as well.

Imagine that show combined with a show like 'One Man's Dream' or 'Animazement' and that would be a pretty sweet show IMHO.
