    A Bugs 2 Land... I kid.

Maybe some Spanish mission stuff. It's amazing how much Spanish influence is in California (and it's history) and how under-represented it is in DCA. No, a crappy tortilla thing doesn't count.

Re: what would you like to see replace a bugs land

If I could do whatever I wanted, I would use the area to create a late 1800's San Francisco based land. To do this I would build a tunnel under Route 66 to connect this area to Pacific Wharf which would get some minor improvements to fit the new theme. I would also use the rest of the old parking lot for the land. I would add a Cable Car to match the Red Cars that would start in the old parking lot, have a stop near the end of the Red Car Route near ToT, then go through the tunnel, into the wharf and end near PP.

In terms of the design, I would probably start near the Carthay and entrance to the land with a bit more Spanish Architecture. Then I'd like to see a bit more 1800's urban feel as you got into basically the heart the current FFF. In the parking lot area I'd have a small Chinatown area, but I'd devote most of the space to attractions. I'd probably try to fit a large D ticket in the BL area and a C, a D, and an E-ticket in the parking lot/ China Town area. In terms of attractions, I have lots of ideas, but I don't really feel like going into all that right now.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

I would like something about Spanish influences, but missions may be to controversial.mainly because the fact that the Spanish put native Americans thru strenuous work while forcing them to believe in Christianity.not to forget the small pox and other diseases they caught from the Spanish.I may be wrong but you never know

I think you're spot on. The Mission Period is something everyone should learn about, and the missions themselves are excellent to visit for that reason... but it would likely be problematic for the Disney Corporation to present them as part of a money-making amusement park. Today, many people know the horrors that missionization and the post-mission period brought to Native California cultures. The Chumash especially were enslaved, abused and decimated by disease, to the point of staging a bloody revolt in the 1820's, which was brutally put down by Spanish troops. The tragic history of post-contact Native California is, sadly, not the sort of material that lends itself to Disney-style fantasy, immersion and fun.

I think either a land representing 80s LA with the West Coast Avengers, or a recreation of the Avalon Casino in an earlier time period.

I don't know about a theme, but I'd like to see a collection of maybe 3 nice dark rides. I think Bug's Land is important as a place for small kids to enjoy DCA, but a replacement would need to have rides that everyone can appreciate the way Fantasyland has Peter Pan and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Even after the Carsland expansion opens there still will be too few rides to spend a day at DCA. Adding some quality dark rides with minimal to moderate waits would help flesh it out, but I don't know if we'll see Disney do less than elaborate dark rides in the future. They seem to be pushing for fancier rides now so it is unlikely that they could build 3 rides in that area.

I would like to see another water feature where bug's land is and use it as the entrance to an E-ticket Everest like attraction in that final unused corner to the south of TOT. You could make it Mt. Shasta or Mamoth or whatever mountain with a scary legend of some sort. The area leading up to the ride would be a sleepy resort town with a lake and some small C ticket rides like they have in bug's land.

Totally forgot about Zorro. They should definitely do something in DCA or over in Frontierland. Good idea!
