Re: Disneyland Resort Project Tracker 3

Matterhorn has always been a bit of a bumpy ride. Even before the new sleds. But after riding them myself this last Friday, I like the new ones much better. By the way I did hear "Remain Seated Please" spiel at the end of the ride. So for those of you wondering, it's still there.

Ah but it's still the newer "Please remain seated with your seatbelt fastened" instead of the iconic "Remain seated please".

As they work on building the upcoming Fantasy Fair area, I noticed that they have stripped down many of the facades of the buildings in the back down to there wood structures.

Do you think that they are going to re-theme the structures, or eventually tear them down?

I'm pretty sure they're going to re-theme them, it looked that way in the concept art.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

The Frontierland popcorn cart used to have a guy with a straw hat like in Town Square. It now has an old trapper:

Talking Re: Disneyland Resort Project Tracker 3

Once again looked at the photos Al posted and man those were amazing. Talk about a great trip down memory lane. Man I really hope any redo of tomorowland includes moving the rockets back on top of the people mover. I understand redesigning them to give them more of a futuristic look, and agree not every ride should be brought back from yesterland, but this is one that should just be returned to the sky!
What were they thinking when they moved them. I think some one was smoking a little too much happy grass!

They were thinking that they didn't want to spend the entire $90m Tomorrowland budget in totally rebuilding the Rocket Jets structure so it could support the new version.

As I understand it, the original Rocket Jets were based on ancient technology that was in pretty poor shape. That, along with their wanting to get rid of the load/unload elevator to help open up the space, and needing to provide more "new" to Tomorrowland, leaving the old Rocket Jets was not an option.

Anyone see the new "update" on Alice in Wonderland?

The long delayed and much debated redesign for the outdoor track portion of Alice In Wonderland has finally been decided on. The multi-month rehab at Alice is now scheduled to begin September 4th
Now, this makes it sound as if the track is being reconfigured. If so, I'm really intrigued with what they may come up with. Maybe a little more windiness on the outside? Or a shorter track to get you out and back in quickly. Who knows....
