But from what you've been told, it could be a land or attraction, not necessarily just a new theater show, not that there's any problem with that.

I just think the theater as is, is way too big. A smaller theater, a dark ride and some theming would be fine with me.

The castle is the main gateway to Fantasyland, from the hub. I just think it's slightly blasphemous to a.) detract from the !!!! factor of our beloved park icon by shoveling this in right next to it and b.) dismantle an area that hosted greats like Louis Armstrong and Eartha Kitt. I'm all for updating and improving the area since it IS underused/empty half the time, but I wish they'd find a better use other than an excuse to slap a franchise on something.

Yeah, it does work for me. They might stand out, but they're not in your face. They're teasers of what's to come. It'd be like putting in some kind of Star Wars village/town/market where Plaza Inn is.

They may aswell build a Jungle Book dark ride in Tomorrowland.
Have you seen where Tinkerbelle's meet and greet is, its even closer to the hub then the Carnation Gardens.

I like the idea alot actually. This area is a dead spot most of the day and architecturally does little to nothing. It's fairly secluded from the hub and would not be anywhere near as obnoxious as the astro orbiter.

I think the only real concern I have is the transition to Frontierland. I think the area will work great though. When's it starting construction?

I doubt they'll have swing music at night... Chances are they will have music in theme to the new area to dance too.. Probably music from Tangled... and such.

I love this concept. But why couldn't it have gone where Fantasyland Theatre is.

Seriously, this is pretty much what is in the Fantasyland Theatre now, also known as Princess Fantasy Faire. this is going to be a better, and much more themed version outside of that theatre so that they can either put a real show back in, or a land, or just rides.

So what about Snow White's Grotto? That was shoveled in next to the castle after the fact as well. It's also Fantasyland themed, and Princess. Is that blasphemous? Nope. Why? Because it's "always been there." We're used to it.

b.) dismantle an area that hosted greats like Louis Armstrong and Eartha Kitt. I'm all for updating and improving the area since it IS underused/empty half the time, but I wish they'd find a better use other than an excuse to slap a franchise on something.
They aren't dismantling the area. The stage will remain and just be rethemed. Louis Armstrong and Eartha Kitt will have still played there. It's just getting rethemed. Like a wrapping on it. The actual stage isn't changing. Look at the art, all they are doing is themeing what's already there.

What makes you think this will stand out? All we were shown is art from INSIDE the area. They aren't going to want it all visible from outside. It makes no sense. Given that they are doing shows and such with princess meet and greets they're going to want it as closed off from the outside. Just like Princess Fantasy Faire is not easily visible until you're inside, neither will this be. In fact, the Castle will be about 100% more in your face than this will. The Matterhorn is in your face as it gets. It's a 141 foot tall MOUNTAIN. Or how about the Astro Orbiter. There is no attempt whatsoever to hide these from view. They are absolutely in your face. You're just used to them being that way.

The area is already fairly hidden from view by trees. The backing of the buildings will be made to blend into the view from the hub and you won't be able to easily see in except through the entrance.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I believe this is when the audience is supposed to get on their feet, give a round of applause and shout, "BRAVO!...ENCORE!," as loud as they can.

Re: Disneyland Resort Project Tracker 3

For now I like the idea. I want to see what the finished version looks like, but here's what I like about the idea.

    1. A better themed area for princesses. PFF has a generic feel to it whereas the village from Tangled was heavily influenced by Disneyland's Fantasyland.

    2. The entire area currently hosting the PFF will be freed up for something new. This could benefit both Frontierland and Fantasyland, or Fantasyland and ToonTown given the proximity to the area.

    3. Princesses near the castle. Thematically, this makes tremendous sense, assuming they theme the area in such a way as to blend rather than overwhelm.

Concerns: Not knowing how exactly this will fit in with the surrounding environs. That said, Pixie Hollow does a nice job of being there fitting in without standing out. I think Disney will find a way to do this right.

Now, I realize that DCA is not Disneyland, but I think the performing groups will just move over to DCA.

I'm worried about traffic flow. :s

Now we will have a whole new group of people trying to crowd toward the area also used for people getting to Fantasmic, the Parades and the Fireworks. It is literally right at the busiest part of the park between all of those things and the exit.. None of the pathways too it are big to begin with. Too bad they couldn't have done something East to draw people away from this congested area.
