While this does seem to have a lot of potential for fun, it sounds like it could easily turn out to be more of a stylized amusement park, than a Disney-level theme park. Where would the connection to Disney be? One of the mistakes that's being corrected in the current iteration of DCA is the absence of traditional Disney characters, and I fear that a Marvel park would have the same problem.
Hah! I just got an image of an 'Iron-Mickey', along with 'Spider-Goofy' and 'the Incredible Duck' (Don't make him angry. You wouldn't like him if he's angry.) Maybe this could work, after all.
I just don't see how Marvel fits into any Disney theme parks other than perhaps the movie studio parks in Florida and Europe. Trying to shoehorn them into Disneyland or DCA won't work imo...
I'm confident Disney can come up with some really wonderful immersive attractions based on the Marvel characters. You wouldn't see a rehash of Six Flags Magic Mtn.
^ The cosmetic changes, including the paint job, new bobsleds, and rumored new Harold and special effects, are not supposed to be instated until the next big refurb in January.
So is the train smoother at all? lol probably not so much so, I wonder if the new cars will be more comfortable? It seems like there've been a few Disney rides that forget people can be 6ft and above o_o I mean Pooh is the worst but I get nervous sometimes that Disney forgets that people have legs.
I can't wait till January then to see if the changes are anything more then the new cars. I'm guessing if they do repaint it, it'll be mostly external work. I kinda wish they could do more to cover up all those panels covering the inside of the ride, really takes you out of the setting. I don't thing Big Thunder has obvious panels everywhere.

I honestly believe Downtown Disney could be the best first step in introducing the public to the Marvel characters at a Disney park. Characters like Captain America could simply roam DTD and interact with families who are out for a stroll or who are making their way to/from the parks and hotels.
