I did this morning! No changes that I could see! Rode both sides! Just standard refurb!

^ The cosmetic changes, including the paint job, new bobsleds, and rumored new Harold and special effects, are not supposed to be instated until the next big refurb in January.

Hah! I just got an image of an 'Iron-Mickey', along with 'Spider-Goofy' and 'the Incredible Duck' (Don't make him angry. You wouldn't like him if he's angry.) Maybe this could work, after all.
I just don't see how Marvel fits into any Disney theme parks other than perhaps the movie studio parks in Florida and Europe. Trying to shoehorn them into Disneyland or DCA won't work imo...

I'm confident Disney can come up with some really wonderful immersive attractions based on the Marvel characters. You wouldn't see a rehash of Six Flags Magic Mtn.

That's because Six Flags Magic Mountain has a contract with DC Comics. IOA is living proof that Marvel can have some amazing attractions.

So no big announcement this week.

Hey, has Pirates been switched back to Davy Jones yet, or is it still Blackbeard?

I went two days ago and it was still Blackbeard. The Blog said that Davy Jones would later return this year so he should back when POTC reopens from refurb.

Oh, does anyone else think lap bars would be extremely awkward on Splash Mountain? If you don't know why I bring it up, just ask WDW regulars.

It's not the PeopleMover that's coming back, Disney/Pixar Toy Story Slinky Dog is going up there.

So is the train smoother at all? lol probably not so much so, I wonder if the new cars will be more comfortable? It seems like there've been a few Disney rides that forget people can be 6ft and above o_o I mean Pooh is the worst but I get nervous sometimes that Disney forgets that people have legs.

I can't wait till January then to see if the changes are anything more then the new cars. I'm guessing if they do repaint it, it'll be mostly external work. I kinda wish they could do more to cover up all those panels covering the inside of the ride, really takes you out of the setting. I don't thing Big Thunder has obvious panels everywhere.

Well, I hope DL gets something great. I haven't been excited to see anything new at the original park since the New Tomorrowland. And we know how that turned out.

I'm with you there although I'm not sure Pooh is worst than GSS in that matter: I feel like an origami when I fold myself in there!

I honestly believe Downtown Disney could be the best first step in introducing the public to the Marvel characters at a Disney park. Characters like Captain America could simply roam DTD and interact with families who are out for a stroll or who are making their way to/from the parks and hotels.
