Wow.....kinda think they should have done this...well this YEAR so that a Wreck-it Ralph attraction could be in the parks by Halloween time

At Disneyland today and just saw more. CMs being allowed to test the Matterhorn.

It really makes me wonder if the closure has nothing to do with Wreck it Ralph. Of course schedules do change.

The closure schedule might be little more than Disney trying to justify having the second story closed to guests until they figure out what to do with it. If I remember correctly the second story is all that was listed for "refurbishment". The area has been closed for as long as I can remember. It sounds to me like the listed it 2014 since the decision on what to do with it has not been made.

^might not be....but how long is it going down? a few months...or like....over a year...cause if its over a year I'd really wonder what they are doing to the place.

They have a REALLY good time now to set up the second story as a Tron/Wretch it-Ralph arcade and it would be pretty popular and a good place to set up a meet and greet for both movies

No word on any enhancements? I'm a little disappointed.

At the Matterhorn right now and some walls have come down but they are still only letting CMs test ride.

They might as well rename it 20th Century Land. It will be great! In fifty years it will be like Mainstreet. Everyone will be able to look back with nostalgia about how we all lived in the 80's and '90's!
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

Seriously, is that all there is? This guy paints chunks of plastic, and people drive over to Downtown Disney and pay cash money for it and then display it like it's something other than a sparkly chunk of plastic?

Who says we don't live in a decadent and silly society?!? Chunks of plastic for sale for big money, and it's passed off as "Fine Art" that we are supposed to covet instantly because this guy painted the plastic chunk a sparkly color.

And Disney and "Noah" laugh all the way to the bank!
HEY! Watch it! It is NOT just a chunk of plastic, its a chunk of Vinyl!!!!

Things to keep in mind. When Disney has a date figured that far out; it's quite often a place holder date. This doesn't mean it's going to be a grand 2 years of construction. It means they are likely planning on something and had to pick a date and figured it would be budgeted for around the beginning of 2014.

Oh, it's vinyl. Well then, that's different. Go ahead and pay good money for chunks of vinyl painted sparkly colors by a middle aged man with too many tatoos and a rented art gallery in Costa Mesa.

It's not just a chunk of sparkly plastic, it's vinyl! And an "artist" did it! Buy it quick!
