It was stuttery for me as well Mojave. Also noticed they didn't show the statue in the video. That video makes it look awesome for sure. Can;t wait to see it when it's all done. Very nice look and feel to it. There will be some awesome pictures coming from everyone when that is done!

That video is hardly accurate 100%. Look at how it represents the entrance for the park. It seems to be outlined with blue neon, including the name of the park, and the letters look completely different than from the real ones.

Figure this: If we didn't have internet like we do now, all this information would be spectacular news to us all. But, since it isn't, how much would you expect to be a surprise? Almost anything is public knowledge now. Also, they have tons of NEW projects they are working on, can't do too much or the quality will definitely be under par. Give it some time and in 2 years when the next D23 Expo is in town it will have much more to show...then again, we'll all know about it before hand anyway...

Just got back from D23. Yeah the Parks and Resorts presentation was a little bit of a letdown. But it was fun seeing computer animation of the dwarfs mine train ride. I loved seeing the models of Buena Vista Street and Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland. I was really surprised of how big the place is really gonna be. I shot lots of video of those models. Which will be in my next Disneyland Insider episode.

I've posted on the D23 forum on this but this video is significantly more accurate than the model. One of the details from the imagineer was a discussion on the craftsman style trolley stop which is now at the front instead of the small building that was there before. Now, we have a large quantity of Craftman style with the hotel which is why this is the ONLY piece of craftman in the BVS area. And it is here because... it helps the story of the TREE that will be behind it! They're doing a great job making all this feel 'organic' while still being fantasy.

I mentioned it in the other post but it might warrant repeating: the EXACT time period of the street, since it's been such a large debate before, is... INEXACT! It goes from 1923 (entrance) to 1937 (Carthay with Snow White) and everything in between. There'll be some art deco, art nouveau, craftman but the underlying tone is 'spanish colonial revival and quasi churrigueresque' (if you didn't know that word yet, welcome ! The WDI person on site at D23 personally owns the project and manages the overall design, he was quite fascinating )

One of my favorite point of details is that the overhead catenary are just 'for show' and all the posts are used for loud speaker, lights, etc. The trolley ARE electric, running on battery, charged through induction coupling at various stop points. They did leave the cable to unconsciously force people to look down, helping with the sight lines. They did raise the height of the line from 16 to 21-23 feet after 'negotiations with the entertainment department concerning the parade floats'.

CCT is just a restaurant, no shop/merchandize announced there yet. No discussion/news/anything on the possibility of a Club 33 type place. The model shows some cars as well but there's no other vehicles than the trolleys on BVS. The gazebo is an interesting question, it's on the model, it's not on the video... but notice that the partner statue is missing... and that tree on the video which is where the gazebo was supposed to be is kinda random and not even centered correctly

The Hollywood overheard sign is gone, the Condor Flat sign is not coming, etc.

The amount of detailing coming to the facade and inside of ALL those buildings is awe inspiring though.

If I remember, I'll come clutter that thread again. If you'd like to ask some questions to the guy, you can PM me and I'll make sure to go back and ask them, at worst tomorrow

    Cheers everybody

I posted a thread about this, but someone thought I should post it here too: I just spoke to Garner Holt, and he told me that Disney is preparing to install his company's car AAs in RSR.

Word is that there are more announcements coming in the near future.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Re: Disney California Adventure Project Tracker 12

Am I just seeing things or are some of the buildings in BVS duplicates of what already exists in the backlot section?

To be more clear, a few iconic LA area buildings that are represented in the backlot area seem to also be included in BVS. What's up with that?

I can see what your saying, but with the rumors of Hollywood Blvd's facades getting redone to be more real, I would assume they're modify the building heavily. But I don't think the similarity is that noticeable, if anything it will help transition to Hollywood Blvd.

Lets see, DCA is getting Carsland and the beautifully themed Buena Vista St, while Disneyland is getting a princess meet n greet off of Main St...I think I'll spend most of my time at DCA next summer. Sorry DL.

The more I see and hear about Buena Vista St and Carsland, the more I am impressed and excited. This park is really evolving into something great.

Actually that location has always (or at least since December 2004) been considered Fantasyland!
