I think you misunderstood me or I might not have explained it correctly. I was trying to say that it is interesting that the dark ride includes a scene of the town of Radiator Springs even though the whole attraction is built on a mountain range which serves as a backdrop of the actual radiator Springs.Guests will enter Carsland walk through full size recreations of the town of radiator spring then get on an attraction within the towns mountain range and once again see the town at a scale version. Not that it is bad just interesting that WDI did not consider or did not mind repeating a setting within a setting

I think that the way the sets are designed and decorated, you can't see that far ahead, even though you could in that pre-viz. Frank is slightly hidden behind a wall and (probably) some set decorations, and when the car ahead of you triggers him, he won't be in line-of-sight.

It's more like what happens on Soarin when you fly over DL at the end... the Radiator Springs within the ride is kind of set up as though you have driven back to it. You've driven through some caves and emerged from them back near/in Radiator Springs again. It's something akin to how you see the same characters several times during any of the Disney dark rides... you don't automatically assume it's a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Ariel or Brer Rabbit, it's the same one that you're simply re-encountering multiple times.

Sorry. My bad, I jumped the gun.

Won't the ride include a different version of Radiator Springs since the land takes place after Movie 2 and the ride takes place before it?

Technically perhaps, but the RS within RSR is an extremely simplified and shrunken RS. You probably won't see enough of it to determine that it's distinctly different from the RS of Cars Land.

Since I was texting my girlfriend and posting on Micechat at the same time, that's when.

I'm really interested to see how this works out... that is a massive space to be moving the guests through (in real scale) so to make it work inside the show building like that, and given the guests JUST CAME from the full scale place.. I wonder how it will come off.

Radiator Springs Racers will take place in between the two movies. Which explains why Doc is in the ride. Previs videos are always fun to see. But i can't wait to see the finished product. Isn't this ride gonna have one of the largest show buildings ever built by Walt Disney Imagineering?

I though Cars Land was 1.5 as well as RSR.

Back in the early days someone put the RSR show building on top of indiana Jones and I think it was roughly the same size?

The Disney Park blog is giving us some more CARS goodness, but from the Art of Animation restort at WDW. But this could give us an idea of how he will look in the ride.

In the D23 videos they explain how when designing the land they worked with the folks at PIXAR (working on CARS 2) and shared ideas so the buildings in the movie and the land will match. For instance changes they made to Flo's for the theme park were used in the movie.

Yep. That's what I meant to say. Both Cars Land and Radiator Springs Racers will take place in between the two movies.
