Re: Disney California Adventure Project Tracker 12

My earlier comment question came form only being able to go to the park maybe once a year. I've got a pretty balanced view of things if you read my previous posts.

The size and scale of Cars Land just astounds me. I can't wait to see its tremendous rock work up close this summer.

You are quite right. I just took a fresh look at those elevations again. I was reminded how interestingly varied the different architectural styles and colors really are. I rest my anxieties once more.

I was looking at pictures of the northern end of Carsland behind the Cozy cone motel and noticed the large landscaped area between the cones and pathway into bugsland.

I talmost makes me wish they had just torn down more of the concrete wall and created a heavily landscaped area with an expansion of heimlich chew chew train track. with enough landscape and rockwork to mostly block the view of the attraction from Carsland but just give a glimpse of heimlich right before entering the actual FFF area. Looking at an aerial picture of the area shows just how much room is between the cones and the pathway that leads intot he FFF gates.

Heimlich is such a cute ride but suffers from being wayy to short.

For those of you who were discussing a while back if the neon signs in Cars Land were really neon or not, take a look at this video from Cars Land presentation at the D23 Expo. At around 37:35, John Lasseter himself says: "That they are gonna be pure neon signs."

I thought the same thing. Dense landscape would have at least added some nice depth for both sides even if adding track wasn't in the plans.

Amazing picture. That is a great point of view showing both the back and front sides of the rock work.

Makes you wonder... I mean they did all this work to make the road go right up to the rockwork and integrate it right into the rockwork.. yet they chose not to add detail to the road surface to make it look like dirt as it would be integrated into the rockwork.

I think it would have been cool to make a transition from road to dirt.. some effects like rock clicking, some rumble, etc.

I think it could have been cool.

Sure seems like it. Isn't there a small "porch" on that side very near the top of ToT?

There are balconies on many of the levels up the side of the Tower.

Boardwalk Bazaar. I like the look. I just wonder why they named it so similarly to Adventureland Bazaar. That and, why remake just one facade? I see the differences in the other ones, but I don't see why they'd just redo one of them in that style.
