Looking close at this plan it looks like the main drag will have the fresh asphalt put down by Lightning while the cross street will have older looking asphalt and the road leading to Stanly's Oasis and the circular drive at the Cozy Cone will be old and very cracked.

I wonder exactly where the locations are for new attractions for Carsland. I'm guessing their version of Sci Fi Dine in fits into a building by Flos.

Your are correct. Looking at the largest size image at Flickr it does show a flat version of Ramone and Flo projected in a window. Also note that Guido and Luigi are on a bridge over the starting line of the race instead of on the sides like in the pre-vis video.

I guess it's supposed to be them looking through the window of the paint booth but the choice of peppers ghost would seem very odd still. I would think they would use regular projection directly on the window or onto a form (like buzz) or onto a Mylar screen which gives a holographic effect. But kudos for making that text out. Took me multiple tries even knowing what to look for

i dont think theyre doing that resturaunt anymore.I think that was an older concept when carsland was going to be celebrating car culture rather than the movie cars.

Well, the original Cars Land plan (the one announced in 2007 which is basically what we're getting) did have planned the Radiator Springs Drive In which was going to be a Sci Fi Diner experience but for Cars. Some earlier concept art and one of the models from the 2009 D23 show the drive in being roughly next to Luigis but up the path some more. It would have been right on the way to Bugs Land or Hollywoodland transition. If you notice, there is an expansion plot right now in Cars Land that is roughly in same spot as originally planned.

I count ten track spurs. Am I the only one who feels that imagineers didn't use the showbuilding space as wisely as they could have? Surely they didn't need that many switch tracks.

^I feel like you can't really say anything till you actually see what they've done inside the show building. All ride layouts look far more simple that the rides themselves. If you look at the layout for the Mummy at Universal, you'll notice it looks far less complex than the ride feels when you are actually on it. I'd say give Disney the benefit of the doubt until you actually ride the thing and see what's inside.

What I love about the BSC exhibit is that they still barely reveal what's going to happen inside the show building. We haven't seen any of the animatronics, nor have we seen any actual interior shots of the building. It's brilliant because they have so much they can show off for Carsland while still keeping the truly important things under wraps.

I don't think that you can judge the attraction based on this one drawing. If it's accurate it only means that the track doesn't twist all over the place. But if there are large sets and props they may need all that extra space, which are not shown.

It's been shown quite a bit. Concept art for most scenes has been shown. Plus the others have been discussed .. Like meeting Mack and the sheriff. I think photos of Mack have also been shown. The latest video even talks about going through radiator springs. Maybe the current bsc doesn't lay it out, but has been in pieces throughout.
