Eulogy SUNSHINE PLAZA(2-8-2001 to 8-28-2011)
I can not believe no one has offered a eulogy for Sunshine Plaza. I could not find one on any of the forums so here's mine.
We are gatherer here to today to remember Sunshine Plaza and are memories some better than others that we all hand of this land. What can I say starting off you had big letters letting everyone know they were some where in California. Than you hand ugly turnstiles but they let us to the park so quickly because their never was a big line. I have memories of than looking at giant murals one to my left one to my right with a squashed golden gate bridge behide it. Than tilting my head to left scratching my head and thinking oh it's post card I don't get it. You hand great neon on your store's reminding of my happiest place on earth Vegas. Than you had a big sun sculpture inside a fountain that reminded me that in California we have a sun in the sky making me wonder what the rest of the country uses to brighten their day. But what I will remember most about Sunshine Plaza is you had no attractions to ride no kinetic energy no street performers to get in every one's way so that we could get to the rest of DCA all that much faster. Sunshine plaza your time with was short but you will live on forever at Yesterland if not in are heart.
I invent every one to share your memories on Sunshine Plaza.

Sunshine Plaza was filled with awful puns that didn't make anyone laugh. It tried so hard to make itself remembered but I fear it will be forgotten as quickly as guests walked through it's cement paths. Rest in pieces sunshine plaza.

DCA opened with Sunshine Plaza and was part of the park for 10 years, for that reason it was kind of sad to see it go. Even though it was not perfect, there is still some nostalgia for that area of the park. Buena Vista Street will be so much nicer and a better entrance for DCA, however the Sunshine Plaza will always have a place in my heart as the original entry for DCA.
Welcome to Yesterland Sunshine Plaza!

What I definitively won't miss: the dreadful Halloween 'candy' music loop. It was really bad.

LOL, nice eulogy there!
I don't remember the moment exactly, but I think I shed a tear when I saw the first bulldozer ripping out the giant hubcap....tears of JOY baby!!!!!
Wont be missed in the slightest. Theres not ONE single element I will miss. I wouldnt have MIND if they somehow kept the train as it was a nice element, but will I miss it? NOPE! I went through the area for the last time a little over a week ago ecstatic with the idea cementland was finally on its way out and a real entrance was coming in! If the DCA expansion wasnt happening like it is today and there was only ONE element from it that they could do (i.e.picking one from WOC, TLM, PP reno, CL, etc) it would be to change the entrance over anything else. Yes, it sucked that badly!
I dance on your grave Sunshine Plaza...I dance on your grave!!

Even the recent park maps were labeled "Sunshine Plaza", but had a big empty spot where that label was placed on the map.
