Strike up the Band! Trip Report 9/10/2011

I postponed posting the TR from Saturday (9/10) out of respect for 9/11.

So here we go!

I arrived at DLR a bit after 10 so I headed to DCA to get a WoC FP (naturally). Then I went to DL to find a lightly crowded park (thank the thunderstorm for that) and the Star Tours FPs was available for early afternoon at the time I came in so I got one to come back at 1:35. I walked around and decided to catch a Laughing Stock Co showing.



















After that I went to the castle to take some pics since I don't have many pics of the castle.





The Tea Cups were still closed due to weather.







Then went to the Lagoon. I was pretty much taking a photo run before and after lunch.





Then as I was nearing Its a Small World, I heard drums. The Mickeys Soundsational Parade Drummers were out!

The premise of this is that 2 of the drummers are doing there thing when 2 "guests", actually the 2 other drummers in the parade, start playing the drums on the bike. The voice of Disneyland notes that they're in need of another drummer so the 2 compete on who gets to be on the parade. In the end, theres room for both!

After some rides on Indy, I watched some of the Jedi Training Academy













I wasn't intially going to see any characters but I decided to see some characters at least so I went to Pixie Hollow since it had the shortest line and it would kill time before my FP for Star Tours was good.



I saw Fawn and Tink.





After Pixie Hollow I went to Star Tours where I got Vader, Tatooine, Ackbar (Its a TRAP!) and Death Star/Geonosis the first time on it that day. I then picked up another FP for Star TOurs that would be good as soon as World of Color was over.

I love your trip report. I do not live in California so I try to get out there once a year. I wish I could get out to Disneyland more often but since it is impossible at the moment it is trip reports like yours that help me get through the day. Thank you, and great pics by the way.

So continuing where I left off, I got my usual spot for the parade which is next to the Carnation Cafe.

Shortly after Soundsational, I headed to DCA as I needed to be there for World of Color. Was also the opportunity to get some dinner. I went to Paradise Pier for dinner heading into Paradise Gardens.





Got the pepperoni flatbread pizza and I really loved it. Better than the other pizzas in both parks. I also listened to Odyssey which was the performing band on Sat.

















After that I rode TLM and browsed around some shops until it was time for World of Color.
