    I think if people weren't so "sue happy" the lawyers wouldn't take away a lot of the fun stuff to avoid lawsuits.
    There is nothing wrong with sue happy people. It just means that there is more attorney business out there.

    And more attorney business means more attorneys and more students going into law school, which means more attorneys that people can hire, so more people can sue, which means more attorney business, etc. It's a win-win situation.

    I dont think we are that desperate for space to put in an octopus or other carnival ride in that spot. Yes it would fit, but its such a noisy area. If there isn't a train overhead, there is one at ear level and a block brake. I expect that from a 6 Flags or the Santa Monica Pier, but not DCA.
    Consider what has to be done, all landscaping removed, and a double fence to keep people away from Screamin Track. Another concrete and steel jungle. I think we have to stay stuck with sand dunes. But if it makes you feel better, the sand dunes tie the entire pier together, from Screamin to that beach by Bayside Brews.

    Don't remember how much room there is there, but pretty sure it's not enough for more than a C-ticket. If that. Perhaps the entrance to a bigger ride? Isn't that what they're doing with the old Maliboomer area?

    Why would you change it to hot air baloons? The jellyfish are part of the seaside theme.
