Oh my goodness I am still tired from our latest trip! As usual, Disneyland didn't disappoint and we were treated to many wonderful experiences.
We came to celebrate The Princess' 12th Birthday! We booked our airline tickets before knowing that Fireworks and Fantasmic! were only on the weekends this time of year so we ordered the extra day on our Park Hopper so we could catch those on Sunday night when we arrived.
We were able to make it to Fantasmic! as well and met a lovely family whose daughter was also turning 12 and had similar special needs to our daughter.
Monday morning we met my father, got him his ECV and began our day with a visit to "the tower".
Rapunzel told us how much she loves her birthday too. Our Princess was having a rough morning but still managed a small smile.
Later on we met up with some old favorites for a few lessons. The serious looking one must have been the teacher.
Of course we decided to go straight to the Big Cheese and as you can see, this is who she had been waiting to see all day!
Of course we strolled next door for a visit with Minnie.
We ended our day with a wonderful parade! We sat in the wheelchair section and the cast members who were working there really have a great understanding of what is needed for the folks in that area. They were very attentive and gracious!
We ended the night as the last folks taking a scary adventure.
Tuesday morning! I was so happy to be in the right place at the right time! I love these guys!
We got to see our friend again. This time he was in his holiday finest!
Of course I had a minute with my old friend.
This was one of THE highlights. We were able to help some friends, who are missionaries right across the border in Mexico. bring their children for the first time ever. This was taken as we round the corner at Main Street and their daughter saw Sleeping Beauty's Castle for the first time. PRICELESS!
That night we all got to take in World of Color for the first time.
Wednesday was our last day so we like to double back on some things and catch the few we may have missed. On Sunday night we discovered Maynard at the Tiki Room. I know, I probably should have known who he was but NOW I know! We saw him when we stopped for a Dole Whip and interacted for a few minutes before going into the show. He is fun and genuine but even better, he is well on his way to becoming a legend.
He has the best Tiki Intro ever!
Our Princess was in a better mood so she had another visit with Rapunzel.
We had made priority seating arrangements for Carnation Cafe hoping to see Oscar. As we approached the restaurant, guess who we saw!! (Yes, I yelled out his name as we approached!)
He grabbed my hand, led us to our seats and checked on us throughout our delicious meal. My favorite moment was when he delivered a PBJ to a little boy. It was amazing!
Next, we were headed to DCA when we saw the line for Pinocchio. It was too long to wait in the heat so as we approached the sidewalk we saw someone who I love even more! Gepetto!!
Then, someone was excited to see his dad!
He then took his silliness over to Minnie for a dance.
On our way out, we finally got our photo with the Mickey Flowers. Mr. FoundMyHappyPlace was mischievious but it made for a happy photo!
We went from there to enjoy DCA and our favorite things there. As usual, you can't beat Disneyland for a place to celebrate a birthday. Maybe when I turn 50 we will do it again.
