^to have a girl look JUST like a princess is almost impossible....Disney draws them (both princesses and princes) WAY too perfect to be human..they almost never have "flaws"

I think they did a good job at making the princesses look more "human"...all the girls in the pictures have things that make them look a lot like the princesses

Just skimmed through it. Nice art work, and commentary. Sometimes people try to manipulate disney's versions of characters too much. But IMO this was done with good taste.

They all look pretty similar to the characters. Aurora is a bit...dare I say...man-ish, and Belle just looks off, but the rest are pretty dead on. My biggest complaint is that this person is labeling them "Princesses" yet includes Esmeralda, Meg, and Mulan, while not using Tiana. I'm fine with them being there, but give it an accurate name. Not great pictures as a whole, but the likenesses aren't bad.

oh but they are real. real humans. real clothes. they just aren't earth princesses.

Out of the many women on this earth, there are those who could best resemble the Disney princesses. This graphic artist just digitally painted what he/she thought the princesses would look like in real life using photoshop. That's why I don't really like the article. I'd rather see real women in costume and see which one looks closest to the Disney princesses or is more believable. And have an article out of that.

btw. the artist could paint Ursula but no Snow White? smh

It's pretty hard to recreate a Disney Princess as a real human being. Since each style from the animated films is different from each other. But, after clicking on the link, I can say that most of them are not bad and they resemble their animated counterparts quite well.

Aurora looks a bit mannish? If you look closer, she clearly has spunk and strong.

No...it's the jawline. Very man-ish. Nothing "spunk and strong" about her. Her character isn't really either of those things, anyway. She far more of an ingenue.

ORWEN: I thought these pictures were insulting to the original animated characters--particularly the one for Sleeping Beauty. She looks too worldly and not the least bit innocent. She comes across like a prostitute--which is probably what some modern Disney fans prefer but she doesn't look anything like a humble, chaste young girl. There's no way to improve what's already perfect. The original animated characters are what's best.

Insulting? Really? Wow. I guess one person's insult is another's inspired tribute.

I thought the artwork was incredibly well done. All the characters are recognizable, and all have the subtle features that make them unique.

The artist has done the exact opposite of creating a caricature of a real person, where distinct facial features of a real person are distilled into a recognizable cartoon. Here, the artist has taken caricatures and created "real" people.

If people want to see what a Disney princess looks like if she were a real person, just take a walk around Disneyland.
