    Part II

Thanks so much for the comments everyone. I'll try to get to them asap, but in the mean time, I wanted to get a few more shots up. I was just in the park again yesterday listening to that wonderful Christmas Loop on Main Street, and everything kicks in for the holiday season on Monday, so I know I'm on borrowed time. I'll try to get at least two more sections in after this one, and I hope to have everything up by the end of next week.

    On we go!

Here's a shot taken from the wheelhouse of the Mark Twain last week. I had no idea that they let guests ring the bell and blow the whistle!

The only time I've ever seen them on the castle has been for the CHOC Walk which takes place every October. I was there in support of Justin Cooper and his family, both of whom I met at the first flickr/Micechat photo meet almost a year ago this week. According to Gregg, Justin's dad, last year they were able to go back stage and get shots of the Roundhouse, etc.

Thanks Aladdin! I honestly feel the same way when I look at the shots of some of the other folks on here and on flickr. Rarely a day goes by when I don't come away with a new idea or technique. After the number of mistakes I made shooting in Laguna last night, I was just about ready to give it up. But if I can keep feeling like I'm making progress, this is something I think I'd like to do some day full time...maybe after I retire.

Thanks iamcoolunlikeu! I can guarantee that most of the time it isn't easy as I spend quite a bit of time between Photoshop, Photomatix, and Nik Color Efex Pro trying to get look for each shot after I upload them to the computer. I will freely admit that the computer really saves my butt as a photographer as I frequently have to deal with shots that are lopsided, over or under exposed, not sharp enough, etc, etc. I working to get to the point where the shot I have in camera is already looking good before I do anything to it. I'm not quite there yet! :

No throwing your camera away! I've seen your shots, and they are amazing. Just waiting for you to steal your daughter's DSLR and go on your photographic rampage.
