I've always wondered why one side(west) of the esplanade is palm trees and the other side(East) is different why is it different and not the same on both sides
It always felt to me, that the Harbor side has continuity with DL. The DTD side DCA.
This way you have something of a 50/50 shot at the landscaping flowing continuously into the park you are entering. Instead of 100% for one, and 0% for the other. Not that guest traffic is splitting evenly to DL and DCA, or evenly coming from Harbor vs DTD, just an example.
While DCA changes it is getting rid of the palms and getting more shade trees. Perhaps the resort entry trees should do this too.
Not sure why but I wish they would add rows of trees in the esplanade to help give the esplanade some life. Of course a nice large fountain would be a pleasant addition.
I know people have said that a fountain would create flow issues but if they are able to build these huge ugly promotional stages and floats and leave them up for months then a nice oblong fountain worthy of the Disney magic should work fine.
Oh and please tear out the ugly orange fountain at the edge of DTD and replace it with something less sterile
