"Little Lost Turret" Disneyland Castle discovery, more photos

My story about the Little Lost Turret of Disneyland's castle ran today in the MiceChat Round Up.

Yes indeed, there is another turret on Disneyland's castle! Nearly unseen for 56 years. Perhaps to soon to reawaken.

Here are more photos showing it:

I'm trying to figure out the significance. Was this supposed to be used for something and never was or is it just some decorative detail that has been hidden behind trees since construction?

The castle was originally designed to appear bigger. The sprawling walls to the side helped enhance the illusion. Over time, trees and buildings have obscured much of the side structures. Today, we think of just the part of the castle above the drawbridge, but there is so much more there.

Micheal's article today in the Round Up really does a great job of showing us what the castle was like in the beginning, what it became, what is in the process of happening to the castle now and what could be done to enhance the illusion of size (and possibly expose the little lost turret as well).

Brilliant job by Micheal. Thank you for showing us all something we likely never knew about the most photographed spot in Disneyland.

I read the article felt the same way. Like "meh". It'll be nice if we get the original intent by the time the expansion is done, but it felt like one of those "fans with a bit too much free time" concerns to me. Sorry...
