Old Pictures From Disneyland
Re: Old Pictures From Disneyland
I bet it would be easy to bring back a House of the Future.
Re: Old Pictures From Disneyland
Great finds!
I wonder if they captioned the HotF as:
"Present"ing the House of the Future.
;)

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing these! I miss riding in the bubble of the monorail. It was the coveted seat for any kid! I love the bow and ribbon on the HoTF. Great finds for sure! Wonder if it was part of some Christmas promotion.
Re: Old Pictures From Disneyland
I remember riding in the front car of the Monorail once. The operator took his place in his seat, tooted on the horn then proceeded to say "sorry, I had a big breakfast." I thought that was hilarious and he had such a serious look on his face too.

Here is another neat one from 1964. I just love aerial/overhead shots! Look at those orange groves.

What a view! Nice pond where the parking structure is too!
The Matterhorn looks so cheesy in this it is awesome!
So strange not seeing anyone walking in the middle of the street. The sidewalks are packed! The Christmas season always looks nice there.
Re: Old Pictures From Disneyland
When I see TL and all the motion of it, I get sad thinking of what it has become.

I think it would have been neat if they had incorporated the orange groves into the park somehow. Not like an entire grove but a small portion. Furthermore, I think it would be really cool if they incorporated this today. Get a burlap sack and fill er up. It would be such a nice tribute to the history of the park.

Especially in DCA. I know the Disneyland Hotel was supposed to have one original orange tree on it left over from the original orchard but I have no idea where it is.

Yes! I mean in Soarin you go right over orange groves and they even pump an orange smell. Yeah I wonder where that one tree went?
Ok Disney, get on it! And I promise I won't gripe when you say it was an original Disney idea!
Re: Old Pictures From Disneyland
Correct me if I might be wrong, but is there a lot more water in the waterfall on Matterhorn than there is today? Looks so much better with a higher water flow.
