Progress forward yatta yatta yatta it is still part of the expirience that is changing. It's sad when nostalgic things get lost.

Too late. I think the signs are in John Stamos's backyard already!Originally Posted by ALIASd

1st Amendment-Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
What was the reason for tearing it down? (I imagine it's some warped reason that only a Disney exec. would understand...)
John Stamos wanted those signs to compliment the other one he's already got in his backyard!Originally Posted by splashmountainfreak

Depressing - - All the cool, historic elements of style will soon be gone from that complex. Are they going to slap up another funky glowing pixie dust trail or something?
What a waste. There was no need for it to happen.
In the last few years, the city of Hollywood has reignited some of the historic rooftop neon signs that had been left around town, most for business long gone. And they are beautiful. If they had been torn down carelessly like this, it would not have been possible.
Shame the WDC doesn't appreciate its own history and beauty.
yeah ...something new will be put in.......letters coming off a building is not that sad.....I'll admit when the skyway went away I was kind of dissapointed...sad?..no, but I don't really miss it that much and sea worls has a higher one that is just as, I want to say fun, but it wasn't...relaxing maybe...to ride...LOL
Re: Last Look at The Disneyland Hotel Sign I didn't think it would effect me like this, but I got a tear in my eye. I will always remember my first stay at the DLH in the early sixties, and that sign said we made it. I also remember all of the other trips when we could not afford to stay there and the longing for Mickey soaps and the Monorail entry to the park.
Very Sad![]()
like i said in a recent post, I don't think they would put a brand new shiney sign against the old dull hotel color, I think they are getting a new sign but keeping the same color and style, I can't see a new style sign being put on the hotel.
I'm imagineering a new signature for your future enjoyment!
The Disneyland Hotel sign is gone

Nooooo!
I am so heart broken from this.
I love the hotel sign.I have lived in Anaheim my whole life and my parents bowled down the street from there and I would always look for th sign and know how close I was to Disneyland.I spent a lot of time at the hotel.
Times are changing.
From a font perspective, it's sad to see those letters gone, as it's they were the last remaining icon of the 'classic' font. They will be missed.
