Yeah, I suspect just like the dance troupes, the bands will change and rotate, and who ever said they wouldn't be the Daft Punk style bands playing elecTRONica? I was under the impression they just want to freshen the theme up, not change the music style.

I'd be OK with the just the regular old no wacky show theme thing. In other words, just can all of it.

On a sidenote, I totally thought this was something related to Mr. T for a minute. If that would be the case I'd be all for it. "I pity the fool who don't order a $15.00 glowtini!"

Some people like nightclubs - some people like bars. People should recognize each is a personal preference.. not necessarily shared by all.
Any other day? What makes today special? I don't get that.

You're right, it is a preference. Some people, who prefer live bands, could go to Tomorowland and check out one every single night.

Now, after a year (or 2?) of being in DCA, the high energy dance parties (with DJs/dance music) that people also enjoy are going to be replaced with something that already exists elsewhere. I think that's why it's disappointing for some people.

I would also argue that DJs aren't 'cheap,' considering the rise of electronic popular music in the industry.

WOW. That looks great! Kind of apprehensive that it reinforces the whole industrial supports and steel bars and unsightly stuff, though.

Then why cant the people who like to dance to bands just go to TLT, Carnation Plaza, where that is offered? After T Party opens, what is the option for people who prefer a Disney/Family oriented club settings? There is none. Which is why Mad T will fail.

Re: Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure park, coming summer 2012!

While the lack of a DJ is lamentable, as I really loved the music selection for Glow Fest and believe Mad T Party has the potential for that same kind of atmosphere, my biggest concern is the venue.

From the concept art, it appears that Mad T Party will be placed indoors, most likely in Stage 17. After all, with the Red Cars coming to Hollywood Blvd, a massive canopy of lanterns seems extremely difficult to have at the same time.

This to me is lamentable because I for one thought Glow Fest was immensely better than ElecTRONica, the primary reason being that it took up the entire street and made the area feel like a fantastic Block Party. Thankfully, Mad T Party looks like it will carry on the lighter, less moody rave spirit of Glow Fest, which in my opinion worked fantastically well.

Bottom line is, it needs to be outdoors. The live band concept can work, but only if there is a DJ there in between sets.

Let's do this! I'm excited, ElecTRONica has overstayed its welcome.

Isnt the area in the 2nd picture with the cards, bar and dancers the current area where the End of the Line bar is for Electronica?

Excited for the new theme, but not liking the replacement of DJ's with live bands. I know many people like live bands, but the DJ's at elecTRONica have been top notch and it will be a shame to see them go.

To me, this looks like "3rd time's the charm." The previous two have been good, but not as Disney-like as this one seems to be.

Looks like they aim to keep the trusses from ElecTronica

Maybe they will have both a DJ & a band.
They would need like two or three bands wouldn't they to cover all night?
Two performances & a DJ for when they are done sounds fun to me I hope they do that.

I personally have never seen the Tron area crowded with only little kids dancing. So I'm excited about bands being there. I go clubbing a lot so DJ's aren't as exciting to me. Pretty much just walk-through the Tron area food a good look that's about it.

Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. Just want we need. Glow Fest and ElecTRONica were eyesores and didn't give off a Disney vibe. I wasn't keen on colored lights swirling everywhere, loud music, and the smell of beer lingering in the air. Are they putting it in the same area?

Re: Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure park, coming summer 2012!

Definition of "T" according to urban dictionary:

    http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=T

    T
    N. crystal meth. Often used to refer specifically to 1/16 ounce of crystal meth (half an eight ball). The term originated as follows: "crystal" was referred to as "christina;" "christina" was shortened to "tina," which was shortened to T. --tina syn.
Tweaker 1: Dude, you know anyone who's selling? I wanna get a T.
Tweaker 2: Yeah, I got a contact. Lemme get her number.
Disney might end up getting the wrong crowd coming to this party. They might want to consider changing the name.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

Re: Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure park, coming summer 2012!

From the LA Times: Mad T Party nightclub coming to Disney's California Adventure - latimes.com

An interactive video gaming area is expected to replace Flynn's Arcade, a central location in the "Tron" universe re-created in DCA's shuttered Hollywood & Dine restaurant.
Interesting. I wonder what the plan is there. Something new that will blow us all away perhaps?
A live band will perform on a vibrantly colored main stage that will replace the current ElecTRONica
    DJ
    booth
Also interesting. I assumed that they were going to use the existing stage in the backlot for the stage. so, does that mean they will have two stages?

The House of Cards lounge, replacing ElecTRONica's End of the Line Club, is expected to serve playing-card-themed cocktails amid a royal red and purple nightclub setting evocative of the foul-tempered Queen of Hearts. A small stage in the lounge will feature dancers wearing outfits festooned with hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades.
    So... no DJ at all.

I'm NOT ok with this. If I wanted live bands, I would go to Tomorrowland.

I predict failure... or at least a smaller turnout then ElecTRONica had/has. Disney already has live bands elsewhere. Why would someone go out of their way to a corner of the park for something that is easily and more conveniently located elsewhere.
