Question Need help choosing a character breakfast place for Monday the 16th

i thought i would come here and ask for everyone's opinion on where they think the best character breakfast is. its for my family of 3 my Wife, Son (3), and myself. So really ariels is out of the question. its between goofy's, plaza inn, Storytellers, or PCH.

i myself would like to see rarer characters, my wife would like to see the most characters, my son he just cares about the food.

so please feel free to help me with your first hand impressions and opinions of each area. thanks in advance.

I've only done Minnie & Friends and Storyteller's so I can only tell you about those two, but of the two I choose Minnie & Friends. Its cheaper than Storyteller's and there are tons of characters walking around, including rarer ones such as Perla and Br'er Fox. Plus when you get there they take a fabulous picture of your party with one of the characters, which you later have the opportunity to purchase. And the breakfast is good too, btw.

Storyteller's, which arguably has the better food, just has a different atmosphere to me. There aren't as many characters, though you do get some more obscure ones like those from Brother Bear and Pocahontas as well as Chip & Dale. But it is definitely more expensive than Minnie & Friends and the food is comparable - I think you're paying to be in the GCH to be honest.

To sum up, I usually do both when I stay for several days, so obviously I think both have their merits, but for your 3 year old, I'd say Minnie & Friends is the best bet.

    Have Fun!

I have done Goofy's, Storyteller and Minnies and I totally agree. I did not really care for Goofy's so I have only done once. We go to Storytellers at least once a year- Adults who like characters and good food. If I had children with me I would definately do Minnie's with more focus on the characters.

With a 3 year old child, I'd do the one inside the park. I finally experienced the character meal at Plaza Inn last year, and I must say that I was impressed. There were a whole lot of different characters there. They space them out nicely, and they don't rush you. Allowing you to spend time with each character getting pictures and/or autographs with/of each.

The food was good too, and they have pretty much anything that you enjoy for breakfast. If you make it early enough, then you simply need to exit the restaurant after your breakfast, and enjoy your time in the park.

Let me also say that I have eaten at all of the different character restaurants, and they are all a lot of fun. I just think with a three year old, it would be easier to start out in Disneyland, and then stay in Disneyland, rather than start out at a hotel, and then have to navigate through the esplanade to either one of the parks after your meal.

Re: Need help choosing a character breakfast place for Monday the 16th

My 3 year old loved Minnie's and the food was decent. My DD loved the mickey mouse waffles and eggs, and I had a decent meal. The best part were all the characters. Tigger, Gepeto, and Minnie all took time to stop and dance with my 3 year old DD. The Fairy God Mother, Chip and Dale, Goofy, Pooh, Eeyore, and Rabbit all came by and visited. Tigger came back multiple time and really hammed it up with her. She loved it all and I got an absolute ton of pictures. For me, it was worth the money for the pictures alone with all the characters. If your son really likes interacting with characters, be prepared for him to not eat much. We went for an early seating on a Magic Mourning day (you don't need a MM pass to get early seating. They escort you to the restaurant). I am glad we did that, because there was not a lot of people that early, so DD really got fawned upon by all the characters.

Absolutely Minnie and Friends at the Plaza Inn. It fullfills those three dersires the best.

Here is a little tip, since you state going on the 16th, that will be a pretty crowded day to visit. So plan to be in the park at 8am, by arriving at the gates at 7:30. Go on rides, and get FastPasses first, make a reservation for 10am. This way you don't use up the quietest time in the park, instead of eating.

I did like PCH when I went. Storytellers isn't good for characters, but good for the chow.

I too would recommend Minnie & Friends. There is another great advantage of this place that no one has mentioned.
It opens before the park does. If you make your reservation for a time before the park opening time, it has it's own entrance gate as well.
The entrance gate is to the far left of all the gates. You check in for your reservation there and get a character breakfast button. They walk you down past the crowd on Main St. and to the restaurant.
It is a great way to avoid the really long lines at the gates in the morning and feel a little more special when they walk you past all the people waiting for rope drop. You also get the advantage of having a good breakfast before the park opens and then being in the park when you are ready to begin your day.

Another tip: Before you leave the restaurant, ask for a to go cup for your soda. You can fill it up before you leave and get a little more for your money.

If you have an annual pass, you do get the AP discount on the breakfast too.
Life is far too short for bland food!

On a non MM day, like the OP is going on. I wouln't do that, because the earliest reservation is 7:40. With only 20 minutes to get in and eat and visit so many characters it would eat into your park time, wasting a lot of it.

If it was an Magic Morning day, and the guest didn't have an MM credit I would of suggested it. On MM days you can go in 50 minutes early with the first reservation time of the day. Eat, visit with characters at a semi quick pace, and join in the MM when you are done.

Another vote for Minnie & Friends. Great location, tons of characters from a variety of Disney movies and shorts.
