Hollywood Pictures Backlot - Problems on Hollywood Blvd.

Since I have been taking photos of the area due to the construction, I have been paying extra attention of the area, and have noticed a lot of signage problems that should be addressed...

The Gone Hollywood sign, at the top are two clocks (one faces east, one west), both are not working.

Gone with the Chin Neon, the word Chin does not light up

Schmoozie's sign problems. They have two large neon signs, the west facing one is just fine, the south facing one needs some serious work, only three letters light up. Also, the cup neon, east facing is just fine, the west facing one, the eyes (Stars) do not light up. (Heck, they just had the signs under tarps).

The Hyperion Marquee, the center lower sign (Main Aladdin sign) does not light up, the two side panels (used for posting performnance times) are fine.

Hopefully these items will be fixed before the official Monsters, Inc. grand opening.

(And while they are at it, send the neon repair crew over to Dinosaur Jack

Also, it has photos of the Electrical Parade's first day back for the Christmas season, plus photos of the Fireworks from the Paradise Pier Hotel's Pool deck, actually better than I thought for Fireworks watching.

I also noticed by the Hyperion Theater that they still had Chicken Little playing at the El Capitan and Narnia playing at the Crest. Those should be changed.

The Dino Jack Sunglass Shack is supposed to be like that. Instead of "Dinosaur," they purposely have "saur" missing because the shop is called Dino Jack Sunglass Shack. It has been that way since opening.[smilie=1,29,6]

Darkbeer, is the Pacific's Paradice Pier's Pool Deck open access to everybody, or do you have to be a PP guest\know somebody to get up there?

Yeah I was wondering that myself... although there is nothing like being down on ground level and in the park to experience this show.

As far as I understand, the hotel Public areas are open to the public. Lisa and I are regulars at Yamibuki's and an buy an occasional drink or cup of coffee in the lobby of the PPH.

To get to the Pool deck, you take an elevator to the third floor, and walk thru a set of doors. There is no security checkstand, or need to use your key to open the door.

The pool itself has a seperate fence, which might be posted "hotel guests only", but there is plenty of space (and better viewing) outside of the enclosed pool area.

Glad the signs are fixed, and can't wait for the Monsters monterous media event - it should prove to be a monstrocity.

The sign that I am anxios to see lit up is the one for Sci-Fi Drive-In. Of course the reason their is no sign is because their's no restaurant / attraction yet. However, there was a strong rumor a year or two ago that one is coming to the Hollywood section of DCA. This would be so-o-o-o cool. Has anyone heard any news on the natter?
