    Talking Trip Report from 1/21 - 1/23

We just got back a couple days ago from a 3 day trip at DLR. We were there from 1-21 thru 1-23. We've never been to DLR when it was rainy, and we quickly realized that if it rains a little that Disneyland turns into an empty park and every ride has NO wait time including Indiana Jones and all the other thrill rides. We decided that in the future we should plan our trips around a rainy weekend. LOL. The best part was that Saturday it rained (more of a drizzle) for a couple hours then the sun came out, and it was a beautiful day.

Here are some pictures from our first evening..the night before we went to the parks. We stayed at GCH. It was our first stay there....it was INCREDIBLE!!! (not sure how to make the pictures smaller...sorry!)

    View from our room,

The kids watching fireworks from our balcony,

Here's a couple pictures from our first day (I'll post more later),

Breakfast at Plaza Inn with Minnie & Friends,
Captain Hook having a sword fight with our umbrella,
    Lots of great characters!

At the park waiting in a 1 minute line (I'm on the right standing with my Mother-In-Law, we bought the matching hats after our hair was ruined from the rain )! We learned that if an attraction says 5 min wait that it really means NO WAIT! My kids 4 and 3 riding Thunder Mt. An empty Main Street on a Saturday afternoon.

Great so far! I've been once when it was rainy and it's amazing how many people scatter out of the park when it starts to rain. Keep up the photos I'm excited to see more!

Yup rainy days are awesone days to go. I was so annoyed when I woke up Sat and heard the rain (annoyed that I had too many things to do and couldn't make it to the parks). I'm only 35 miles away so I was very temped to blow off other plans

No fair Jayce!!! I wish we lived that close. We're about 4 hours away...but with LA traffic it can be about 5 hours sometimes. We only visit about once a year.

yep, any theme park that states a 5 min wait usually means walk up. they have to put that, because there is always that one person who will go to City Hall/ Guest Relations if they had to wait in line when it said there was not a wait.

Here are the rest of the pictures...

My son and daughter had their first experience at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. They both loved it.

I thought the mickey they put on the back of my son's head was pretty cool!

Right after their princess and knight's makeover they saw Ariel right across the way. It was perfect! No line to see her either.

I thought this was a really pretty Ariel. She even taught my son how a knight greets a princess...with a kiss on the hand.

    My daughter's favorite ride...

My kids were "whale watchers" on this ride...

My daughter loved meeting Princess Minnie

More of the "Crowds" we experienced. Seriously though! Right after our bathroom break we decided to go see Tinkerbell. There was no line, and we were the only people visiting Terrence and Tink. They were so fun to talk and play with, as there was nobody in line we got lots of one on one time.

My son's first ride on Splash Mountain. As they were getting off he said "that was awesome!". It's hard to tell in this picture though. Haha.

You're never too old for Fantasyland rides. That's my husband and father-in-law.

I took this picture while waiting for the firework show. I love how you can see the carousel through the castle.

We ate at Goofy's Kitchen for dinner one night, and this Mad Hatter was so entertaining. Loved him!

Last, but not least, my little family before we go on the Toy Story Mania ride. We went on this ride twice in a row. LOVE rainy days!!!!

It was such a fun trip! Oh, and I'm 4 months pregnant so I couldn't go on any of the thrill rides. I did go on POTC though (one of my favorites). I'm already excited for next years trip when I can go on the thrill rides again!!

Hooray! Lovely pictures. You have an adorable family. It looks like your kid enjoyed themselves, with the exception of the picture of your son on Splash Summer is my favorite time to go, but there's something magical about having the park practically to yourself and not having to fight through hoards and hoards of people and being able to enjoy each other's company while not having to battle the heat. Thank you again for sharing!

When I was a kid my parents took me to Disneyland every year on my birthday in June and it ALWAYS rained. I never realized what a good thing that was until I grew up and realized it meant that people leave, and if you're well prepared, you can have a lot of fun! Thanks for the rainy report. How fun that you got to experience as much as you did without lines!

    Thanks everyone!

It really was a great trip! We went on around 20 rides on our first day (Saturday), and we weren't running around...we strolled through the parks. That is just shocking/exciting for us. We've been the last 2 years during spring break and the week after Christmas. So to have such an empty park was just amazing to us! Loved it! We're planning our trips around rainy weekends from now on. Haha. Before our trip I was bummed it might rain, but now I know better. Bwahahaha.
