Question ESPN Zone leaving Downtown Disney???

So one of my friends came up to me today stating that his cousin, a manager in Casting at DLR, stated that Espn Zone may be leaving Downtown Disney and be replaced. Now I know that cast members are nowhere near being reliable (mainly). I also know that it's rather unlikely that Disney would remove one of their own branches from Downtown Disney. I informed him of both of these points but I also wanted to see of anybody else had heard anything like this just to be safe.

So does anybody have anything or is this just another random Cast Member rumor?

I'd be shocked if they removed ESPN Zone (one, it promotes one of their brands)
The place is always busy and the food is good.
I'd chalk this one up to just a rumor.

I hope not. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't order that cheese steak any more.

ESPN Zone has closed just about everywhere else. This is the last Disney owned restaurant. The one in downtown LA is licensed. It would be sad for this one to close. It is there almost as long as DTD. Business appears to be doing great. Why change something that works? Nonetheless, this might just be a tough business decision by Disney. How about just selling the rights of this restaurant to another company? Let them run it and cut Disney loose.

From what I recall of Disney closing most of the ESPN Zone's. They intended to keep the Disney Based ones because they saw the best business. So I think your CM friend may be confusing the story a little bit. I don't see any reason for them to close it.

    I don't see this happening.

But ... if they replaced it with a Buffalo Wild Wings, I wouldn't complain.

That would be surprising. Last time we went for dinner it was packed!

I am probably one of the few but personally I could care less if it left. Over priced for eh food and way too noisy. Yes its sports related but even my dh doens't care for it. I have to say Dave and Buster is worse..we have one near here and it's just Chuck E. Cheese for adults. What they need is a good Brewery type restaurant.

As a restaurant that has ties to one of Disney's own brands, I hope it remains. But... they could use improvements on those TVs outside.
